A Few Outfits

Hello I hope all is well in your part of the world.

This week I am sharing a few outfits I have been wearing lately. After the last couple of months of spending more time at home looking after Raffy I am out of practice of taking regular shots of my outfits but the plan is to rectify that as we head into Autumn.

The first outfit was one I wore into town last week to get my nails done and have a mooch around the shops. It was a rather lovely clear Autumn day with a bit of a chill in the air. I have been in the mood for my favourite black lately so I started with my much worn and loved Moyuru skirt , a cotton knit from Dogstar that I bought in their Brisbane store a couple of years ago , a necklace , Dinosaur designs bangles, black sheer socks and silver brogues from MCQueen ( a secondhand buy found in Hobart).

Another day, another black outfit – this was what I wore last Friday to catch up with the MG girls for our monthly coffee morning. I choose my Rundholz cotton dress worn with the long Dogstar shirt that I found in Melbourne last year. Black and white accessories provided the finishing touch – black and white earrings , bangles , a rubber necklace made from old bike tyres bought at a market and my Trippen sandals.

Raffy and I having a cuddle on the steps of the summer house – please excuse my neglected garden. Raffy is coming on brilliantly and is enjoying spending time in the garden (closely supervised) as well as much longer walks.

This was my outfit today and the photos were taken on a country road on the way to Raffy’s hydrotherapy . I was keen to wear both the vintage hat and the United Nude sandals as neither had been worn over the Summer. I choose the navy skirt as it is the only blue in my wardrobe and the cream to compliment the cream trim on the hat but looking at the photos I am not so sure the proportions work together. I feel the skirt needs a shorter more fitted top .

I found this hat last year at Vintage Red Fox and had been keen to wear it over Summer but I actually found I had little in my wardrobe that really worked with it, hence today’s outfit. I feel it would be good either with all white or possibly camel or tan . I am also wearing a mix of beads , Preen sunnies and white daisy earrings .

Looking great Jill and those accessories are, as ever, so interesting and clever – and just great. The silver shoes, for me are the best, although I always adore your skirts. We do love our skirts, don’t we!

Thank you so very much Penny , as you know I am a big fan of collecting accessories. I admit to being rather chuffed when I found the silver shoes secondhand. Yes , we do both enjoy our skirts.

I love both outfits, and those Trippen sandals are so cool! What if you wore a navy tee, though I know those are hard to match, under the white blouse and wore it open? Could you belt it? I really like this outfit, but I do see what you mean though I don’t think the proportions are that off. I think somehow cinching or doing something at the waist would help. Your hat is amazing, too! I’m so glad Raffy is coming along so well.

Thank you so very much Marsha. The Trippen sandals were a naughty purchase a while ago and I absolutely love them.Your suggestion about the belt is a good idea and I think it would make a difference.
