Hello everyone, hope all is well in your part of the world.

Things have been a tad busy in our house lately getting things ready for John’s hip surgery this coming Friday . One of the things on our list was to enjoy lunch at Elaia , our favourite local Greek restaurant which we did last Wednesday and it was as good as ever. Fortunately the weather gods were kind that day and it a little cool but fine and sunny. Black was the order of the day so out came my Pluslavie dress that I bought in Melbourne in April worn over a black knit and topped with my cropped leather jacket from Caroline Moore. I also added a little black wool beret style hat , heart shaped sunnies , Pluslavie cross body silver cross necklace and United Nude boots.

A more casual outfit for a drive in the country , Moyuru pants , knit, Pom Amsterdam jacket , Pikolinos boots , orange beret and tartan bag which was a souvenir from the Vivienne Westwood / Rei Kawakubo fashion exhibition and black gloves with a variety of colours between the fingers that I purchased from a little glove shop in Lisbon.
Whilst John is recovering, I will be the driver in the family, so I felt I needed some driving practice on the open road as I was very much out of practice , only doing short drives around town and even then, not too often as I tend to mostly walk.

The orange felted beret always receives comments on its unusual design. It was made by a specialist felt milliner , Julieanne , who is an American now living and working in Ireland. I acquired this hat by chance a few years ago now . My friend Elizabeth from Brisbane was visiting and she had a similar hat which I greatly admired and as luck would have it there was a surplus hat in Brisbane due to a shipping mix up and as they say the rest is history.

Another day , another outfit that I actually remembered to photograph is one I wore to meet my dear friend, Annie for coffee and a catch up. The cream wool jacket and pants are from Moyuru and were purchased separately a few years ago. I paired them with a black knit , black Helen Kaminski felt hat , black vintage bag , black Ted Baker gloves , cream bangles, cream Hispanitas boots, vintage earrings and cream Fendi sunnies.
I seem to wear this outfit often with a minor tweak several times every Winter. To me this is the joy of having a wardrobe of things that make your heart sing .

Thank you so very much Marsha. You know me and my love for an all black outfit . I am very fond of the orange beret . We are both grateful for your best wishes re John’s surgery.
Love all 3 outfits. Love, love, love the felted hat. As a felted myself many years ago, I appreciate the artistic design and the laborious work that goes into that gorgeous hat. If you ever tire of it, …………………..
Good luck from way across the pond in the US to John on his upcoming surgery. I know many people having gone thru the procedure and hear that it is easier than knee replacement. Lots of exercise helps.
Really enjoy your blog. Thanks.
