Hello everyone , hope all is well in your part of the world.
It has been nearly a week since John and I returned home from our week away in Noosa in Queensland to celebrate our 50th. wedding anniversary and I have finally sorted some photos and sat down to write this post. My only excuse is that since returning home other than the usual washing, unpacking and restocking the fridge and pantry I have been spending a lot of time in the garden as we are having some beautiful Spring days.

We came across this stone couple statue in the Noosa Botanical Garden on the day of our anniversary. Unfortunately, I can’t find anything about its history but thought it most appropriate for this anniversary post.

John strolling through the gardens , it looks fine but we had just sheltered from the rain. I do enjoy the tropical gardens up north as the plants are just so different to what grows at home.

My travel wardrobe consisted of mainly black and white summer pieces from across the years . This outfit was based around my giant spot Alembika pants that I paired with a black and white Sarah Paccinni knit . My accessories with the exception of my trusty bronze travel bag were also in black or black and white, Trippen black and white sandals, black and white bangles and necklace, black hat bought in Hobart over Winter and Dior sunnies.

This was taken on our way out to dinner to celebrate our anniversary by a kind lady also staying at the same holiday units.
I must admit it seems unbelievable to me that we have been married for fifty years, where have all those years gone . It still seems like yesterday that we met at a birthday party of a work mate, John was the drummer in a band that was playing at the party.
We have certainly had our share of life’s challenges together and weathered the storm. We have seen our sons become wonderful young men and welcomed two wonderful grandsons and endured the pain of losing our little girl, India, to a brain tumour.
We have enjoyed our travels, both in Australia and overseas together and hope to continue to do so into the future.

I thought long and hard about what I would wear for our special dinner as Noosa is more of a laid-back beachy town but ultimately decided on what felt right for me. In the end I chose my gold Rundholz skirt, a mesh top, black feather jacket , black leather belt , black Hispanitas booties, sparkly earrings and necklace. I may have been overdressed by local standards but cared not and received several compliments on the night.

I will finish this post with this shot taken as we walked up the path to the headland looking back toward the beach that has made Noosa so popular . I will also add that John had a dip in the ocean but it was a rather strong undercurrent so with his recent hip surgery in mind it was only for a few minutes.
We also visited a rather wonderful sculpture garden but will keep that for my next post.

Congratulations to both of you! Fifty years is quite the best anniversary. We had our 52nd anniversary quite recently and didn’t do much, but we were quite content. As for your outfit – I adore that gold skirt. It’s just lovely.
Lovely photos and it’s so nice to see both of you enjoying life together π

Happy Anniversary, Jill! We had ours in June. I hope we get to celebrate it next year. Your dinner ensemble is stunning, and I’m glad you wore it! You were probably the talk of all the people as they wished they’d bothered to dress as wonderfully!

Congratulations on your 50th. A real milestone in this day and age of disposable everything including marriage partners. Glad you had such a memorable time.
As always you looked amazing for your special dinner together and itβs refreshing that you dressed for yourself and the occasion and not to please others or fit in with their expectations.
Many happy returns!
