Hello everyone , hope all is well in your part of the world.

The last time we visited the Japanese cherry blossoms at Deloraine was back in Spring 2019 . I am not sure why it has been so long as Deloraine is only about half an hour from home . I think maybe it’s partly because the trees are only in bloom for about ten days and other things were keeping us busy . After a reminder by a friend that the trees were in full bloom we headed out this morning and I thought it would be fun to also re-visit the same outfit I wore for my post in 2019.

Back in 2019 the satin floral pants from Trelise Cooper were a new purchase and I still love them as much as I did then . I paired them with a black Paule Ka knit both then and now. A change was the white shoes from Preston Zly from Melbourne. The orange gloves and pink Charles Jordan bag are the same as is the straw boater , be it now a little faded.

Re-visiting the previous photos had me thinking about what has changed over those last few years. I am now pretty much retired other than an occasional shift at the shoe store , we are now proud grandparents of two boys , with Hamish arriving in October 2021 , John and I visited Cuba in 2020 , an enjoyable trip to Europe in late 2023 and Japan in 2024 and a road trip on Australia’s East coast in 2025.
Of course there have been a few glitches over those years but I prefer to think of the postitives.

I thought I would finish with a photo from the original post but due to a computer upgrade I couldn’t locate it so copied the original – apologies for the grainy shot.

Thank you so very much Nancy , I always appreciate you taking the time to comment.
I can see why you love these pants! They are simply spectacular! When you wear colors, you do it so fabulously! I love that belt, too! Those cherry trees are beautiful. We visited Washington, DC one year in time to see the cherry trees blossom. It’s quite magical, isn’t it? I invite you to join in on the Fashion Files link up on Tuesdays!

Thank you so very much Marsha . I knew when I found these pants a few years back they would be worn and loved for years too come. The cherry trees are always so beautiful .
What a lovely outfit: the pants, the belt… it is very striking and beautiful. 2026 has definitely has had some ups and downs for my family, especially with my mom’s health. But we have had some good times. Trying to focus on those when times are hard.

I’m with you on celebrating the positives, I wish more people would! xxx

Thank you so very much Vix . I am glad we made the trip to see the cherry blossoms as it rained for the next few days no doubt spoiling the blossoms. Glad we agree on celebrating the positives . xxx
What a delightful revisit β rewearing your Trelise Cooper satin florals among the Deloraine cherry blossoms, seven years on, is such a lovely statement about true wardrobe favourites. The black Paule Ka knit anchors the look beautifully, and I smiled at the faithful straw boater making its return, faded but game. Retirement, two grandsons, and trips to Cuba and Japan β what a wonderfully full chapter since 2019!

Thank you so very much Elizabeth. Yes , they are wide leg pants in a stiff satin fabric.
Isn’t it frustrating when a comment seems to disappear into the ether, it has happened to me too.
Wow, that is one gorgeous outfit. I adore those floral pants – they are truly magnificent. Loving the hat as well. Also the gloves.
Yes, always celebrate the positives π

Thank you so very much Penny . I am so glad I bought these pants a few years ago.
Love seeing cherry blossom. Your trousers are gorgeous – a dark floral is so much more interesting than a pastel.
