It’s Officially Autumn

Hello everyone , hope this finds all well in your part of the world.

As of last Sunday it’s officially Autumn down here and I am rather pleased about that as it is my favourite season with mostly cooler , sunny days . Although that said it actually started with a very welcome rainy day, the gardens were very grateful.

It has been a somewhat strange Summer here that didn’t hit its straps until well into December and even then unlike much of the mainland states we only had a handful of really hot days .

I am actually looking forward to once again enjoying wearing my layers and as the weather cools once again exploring my jacket and lightweight coat collection and replacing Summer sandals with shoes and boots.

This was today’s outfit for my annual visit to see my oncologist and to take Raffy for his hydrotherapy. This visit is always a tad stressful – more so as it was postponed for three weeks as he was unwell – but I received a really good report and he also commented on how much he liked my outfit.

Raffy is also coming along extremely well and has graduated to just being on the lead in both the hydrotherapy pool and on our short walks.

I needed to feel strong today so for me that meant dark colours – old favourite Moyuru pants that photograph black but are a grey green paired with a Dogstar long black shirt that I bought on a trip to Melbourne last year. I added a Jianhui London necklace , earrings , Preen sunnies and United Nude shoes.

I am actually really looking forward to once again playing with my outfits again now that Raffy is well on the way to recovery and we will be leaving the house more often . The joy of having a blog is the ability to go back through photos and look back at what you wore at different times , this was Autumn 2022 and yes I would do this outfit again.

This was April 2021 , I like it but not sure I would totally repeat the same outfit , not quite me today but I can’t put my finger on why .

That’s all of my ramblings for now . Linking up with Gail at Is This Mutton for Tuesday Twirl.

I’m so glad that both you and litle Raffy are doing well! As always, you look fabulous. I kind of see what you mean about the last outfit, it is stunning but seems to be lacking a certain Jill je ne sais quois! I’m sure you’ve got an amazing accessory to elevate it!
Welcome to Autumn in the Southern Hemisphere! We’ve had a couple of dry days and have even seen sunshie here in the Northern Hemisphere – although I still went out in my Afghan coat and boots! xxx

Thank you so very much Vix, it was a good day all round. I felt good in the outfit for the oncologists visit. Many thanks for your opinion on the last outfit and I agree it does not feel like me today, so I will have a play with the different pieces.xx

I’m so glad Raffy is coming along so well. I love it when my doctors notice what I’m wearing. It shows they’re paying attention to you, right? I love that black and orange outfit and agree you should definitely wear it again. I wonder if, in the last outfit, it isn’t the pink cardigan/jacket that’s throwing you off. It doesn’t seem to have the edgy look you sport these days. Perhaps, adding some brooches? Or, is it the blouse which seems a bit frilly? I think it’s a lovely outfit, but it doesn’t scream, “Jill!” to me, either. Broken apart, I bet you could find perfect outfits with each piece!

Thank you so very much Marsha . It is such a relief seeing Raffy become more mobile again. You are right about doctors paying attention to what you are wearing , it makes such a difference on a personal level. I think you have summed up perfectly what I am feeling today about the last outfit , it no longer feels me . x

So pleased you had a good report and Raffy is doing well. I love your strong outfit, and also the black with orange from 2022. Your comment about the weather chimes with me too. When spring arrives, usually quite suddenly, I’m a little sad because we don’t have very cold weather these days and I didn’t get to wear many of my coats and jumpers. I much prefer winter clothes to summer ones.

I absolutely adore the pops of orange in the 1922 pic. It’s a great contrast. And I am so pleased you are keeping well and that Raffy is improving day by day. It must be such a relief on both counts.

I too love the winter for the clothes but we have are having a few sunny days with even a little warmth, which has been so lovely as the rain this winter has been relentless.

As usual I am loving the way you look.
