Hello everyone , well that was December 2021, it seemed to pass in the blink of an eye. My good intentions of posting regularly somehow seemed to have flown out the window in the hustle and bustle of the Holiday Season.
Early in December John and I had a few days away at Coles Bay on our state’s East Coast. This little escape was a belated trip to celebrate John’s 70th. birthday , which was near the end of September and coincided with the arrival of little Hamish.
Unfortunately, the weather didn’t play fair and was cool, wet and windy for most of our time , clearing on the morning we were coming home. (isn’t it always the way)
December was also busy catching up with friends and family . We also enjoyed the annual MG Car Club annual Christmas picnic , complete with a visit from Mrs Claus .
I also shared in an Instagram challenge with my friend Suzanne in Melbourne and Wendy , who lives in Brisbane. The theme was joy but a different topic every day, ranging from the joy of handmade to the joy of wearing colour , to the joy of secondhand.
My colour came by way of this Ted Baker blouse , I will admit to falling for its style with those big puffy sleeves as well as the strong colour combinations. I paired it with a black Moyuru skirt , tame I know but I really can only take strong colour in small doses. I added a little cream recycle hat, orange earrings and cream Fendi sunnies.
I do hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas , I know we did , even though it was a little different this year without our youngest son Callum, who is working in Thailand . We were joined by my sister Lyn for lunch and by Zac and Sarah and our little grandsons Hamish and Harry later in the day.
Wishing each and every one of my kind readers all the very best for a happy and healthy 2022.
Joining Gail for Wow on Wednesday at Is This Mutton and Nancy for Fancy Friday.
I’m sorry your trip to Coles Bay was marred by unfavourable weather circumstances, Jill.
That Ted Baker blouse is a sight to behold and couldn’t be more colourful, and I’m absolutely loving the outfit you built around it.
I’m glad to hear you had an enjoyable Christmas even though it was a little different this year.
What with the new Omicron variant, we have kept things quiet, and will do the same on NYE. We’ll celebrate with Jos’s children and grandchildren once the storm has passed.
I’m wishing you and your loved once a happy and healthy 2022! xxx

It was a shame about the Coles Bay weather but we enjoyed ourselves regardless.
I thought exactly the same about the colourful blouse and knew it had to be mine.
We will all make up for lost time with family and friends hopefully in the not too distant future. Wishing you and Jos a wonderful 2022.

That brightly coloured top chases away any gloom in the weather! Good call to wear it with black, it makes the colours stand out all the more. Looking forward to seeing your skirts next week! Thanks for linking, and a Happy New Year to you and your family.
