Hello everyone , hope all is well in your part of the world.
Just like that , July has ended and we are now in the final month of Winter down here . That said so far we have had a rather mild Winter with the garden showing signs of an early Spring .
John is making steady progress after his hip replacement and has progressed to longer walks with his crutches .
Since my last post we have booked a week long holiday to Noosa in Queensland to celebrate our 50th. wedding anniversary in September.

This was my outfit recently when I met my friend , Janet for a long overdue tea and talk at a cafe at the bottom of our street. I was wearing a new Winter purchase , a red wool jacket from Ewa I Walla that I bought at the Village Store at Evandale just before John’s surgery . I paired the jacket with the Rundholz tartan skirt, a black knit , Ted Baker gloves , a vintage red wool hat, red Trippen shoes and a black heart brooch that I found in Paris on my last trip.

I fell for the shape of the jacket and the back detail with its ribbon lacing. The jacket fits well in my existing wardrobe, and I have worn it with a black skirt when John and I ventured out to lunch and with my Moyuru wide pants for an MG coffee morning last Friday.

As I have been at home more than usual this Winter much of my wardrobe has not seen the light of day so if I am determined to wear as much as possible before Winter actually ends . I had a nail appointment in town last week so out came this cape /jacket with its embroidered floral sprigs that I have had for a few Winters , which I paired with a Moyuru skirt , black knit , vintage bag , orange felt hat , yellow gloves and Fly London shoes.

I thought a closer look at both the hat and cape was in order , I am a fan of looking good both coming and going.
Seeing the back of my hair is a reminder that a visit to my hairdresser is needed but I am not sure what I want at present but feel it is too long as it seems to be thinning and I am also tiring of the colour . Maybe it is time to once again return to either blonder or natural .
I have been keeping busy in the garden as the weather permits as its rose pruning time and to be honest the garden is looking a little unloved at present but it will get there.
I have also enjoyed stepping up my exercise routine – good walks with Raffy , weights for strength and I have re discovered some of Jane Fonda’s workouts on YouTube. I enjoyed doing these in the 80’s and am pleased with myself as 40 years later I can still do most of the moves. Does anyone else remember these?
That’s all for now – hopefully back to weekly blogs . Joining Gail at Is This Mutton for Tuesday Twirl.
Glad to hear John is recovering well. Beautiful outfits. Don’t change color of your hair. Love that color on you! Glad also Raffy is doing well.

Thank you so very much Nancy . Both John and Raffy are doing so well in their recovery. I do appreciate your thoughts on my hair colour.
I absolutely love that orange hat and have found the maker on Instagram – will look in winter for a similar one. All your outfits are fabulous as usual, and I do love the new red jacket.
It’s good to hear you are having a mild winter. The south of England is officially in a drought. But we’ve just had 10 minutes of gorgeous rain – what a relief! But far too little.
Are we the type that is never satisfied with our hair? I too am not all that happy with mine – I want to grow mine a little more. I like that bob and the colour but everyone just choose their own hair styles.
It is so good to hear that John continues to improve. I will be going through the same thing at some point in the coming months.

Thank you so very much Penny , you can see why the red jacket had to come home with me. I am so pleased I was able to get the orange beret and I can vouch for the quality.
I have seen that you have had a hot and dry Summer, hope you receive some rain soon. Apparently, the weather folk are forecasting a hotter and drier Summer for us too.
I think you are right about the hair , I get mine cut and regret it so maybe just a slight restyle of the bob.
I do hope you don’t have to wait to long for your operation.
I really like your red jacket and I love your red shoes. You’ve inspired me, I really need a pair of red shoes! They were something I wore in my twenties, but sadly now I’m older, trainers are my go-to footwear. Yes, I remember working out to Jane Fonda, they were pretty brutal workouts so it’s great that you can do most of the moves. I’m doing weights, following Joe Wicks, a UK physical trainer and Senior Shape Fitness (a US physio) on YouTube, both are pretty good. It’s definitely hard work trying to keep fit and healthy as we get older.

Thank you so very much Penny for your lovely compliment. I find a pair of red shoes seems to work with much of my wardrobe , hope you can find red sneakers .
I must check out both Joe Wicks and Senior Shape Fitness as I like to mix it up a bit. It is hard work trying to keep fit as we get older but so wothwhile.
I am glad John is doing well with his recovery from the hip replacement! Lovely coats, you have such a nice collection. I have more than I need here as it doesn’t always get cold for very long here.

Thank you so very much Mirielle for your kind words on John’s recovery. I do have a fairly large coat collection but as this has been a fairly mild Winter several remain unworn.
Wow!! I’m so glad to know John is recovering so well! What a relief that must be for both of you. Happy early 50th! We had ours in June but no celebration. I love the red outfit as much as the black one! You look amazing in both. I don’t think I’ve seen you blonde, but I’m intrigued!

Thank you so very much Elizabeth. I agree a change of hair style could be a good idea for Spring. We are both hopeful John won’t need the crutches by the time we go away , maybe just a walking stick as a safeguard. I agree Jane Fonda is really a bit of inspiration in her 80’s.
I love the lacing detail on the red jacket. Your two outfits are perfect in every way. I don’t blame you for wanting to get the most out of your wardrobe before winter ends. Winter ended rather abruptly here and I was livid that I didn’t get chance to wear all of my coats! Glad to hear John is making a good recovery. Your holiday for your 50th wedding anniversary will be such a special time. What a landmark. Thanks for linking.
