Hello everyone , hope all is well in your corner of the world.

On Sunday John and I travelled to the historical town of Ross for an annual gathering of vintage and classic cars. Actually, I go along to see Ross in her Autumn colours and meet up with friends. The number of vehicles was way down this year, not sure if the present cost of fuel was a factor or the weather forecast of early afternoon rain.

As much as I say I’m not overly interested in the cars I was very impressd with this beautifully restored 1936 MG that has recently arrived in Tasmania from Queensland.

I also couldn’t resist taking this shot of these original Minis in all their glory. The Mini was a very popular car among my peers as we all got our driving licenses, although not by me as I was too busy saving to travel overseas.

My Autumn toned outfit was a mix of Australian and New Zealand designers , the pants were M.A. Dainty , the long black shirt from Dogstar and the frilled wool jacket is a Paula Ryan from New Zealand that as a recycle find several years ago.

I decided on brown themed accessories starting with the vintage velvet Kangol beret with its tassel that isn’t really seen in this shot, some cork earrings bought in Portugal , a bead necklace that I have had for many years , leopard print gloves , Preen sunnies and my ever so comfortable Fly London lace ups that I bought in Lisbon in 2023.

The town of Ross has many beautiful sandstone buildings . I was most taken with the glimpse of the old water pump seen through the archway.

The sandstone Ross Bridge was constructed by convict labour in 1836 and is the third oldest bridge in Australia still in use.
It was a most enjoyable day catching up with friends and fortunately the predicated rain came much later in the day.

I just saw your post on IG and how lovely to stop by your blog too! I love old cars and we occasionally pass one on the road here (sometimes they are real old cars, sometimes the ones you build from a kit). Love your gloves against your black outfit.

Thank you so very much Mirielle for your comment. There is something rather wonderful about old cars even if they are not as convenient as modern ones. It was a day for gloves and the leopard ones worked well.
I love the splash of colour brought by your necklace. Glad to hear that your day out wasn’t spoiled by the rain. We’re just going into spring here in the UK, so I’m digging out my lighter summer clothes and packing my winter stuff away!

Thank you so very much Penny . We were fortunate that the rain held off .Enjoy your Spring and wearing those lighter clothes . I enjoy the change of seasons so am looking forward to my Winter coats and jackets.
I showed Mike your Instagram photos of the MGs! He was impressed which is not easy to do. That 1936 MG is a stunner! What a lovely piece of craftsmanship! Now, let’s talk fashion! Your outfit is, as always, so quintessentially you! That frilled jacket is a showstopper, and I love how you used brown as your accessories. It’s not a color often paired with black. The photo of the bridge is beautiful and something I would hang on my wall…the photo, not the bridge…hahaha!

Thank you so very much Marsha , glad Mike was impressed with the Mgs, it was a funday. I was pleased with my outfit as I put it together that morning as the weather forecast changed . I quite like black and brown together.
Loving the MGs and the Minis. I’ve always loved cool cars – not enough to learn to drive them , though!
The all-black outfit looks so cool on you and Ross looks like a gorgeous town to visit. xxx
