Hello everyone , hope all is well in your part of the world.
Firstly an apology to anyone that tried to leave a comment on my last post on my visit to the Westwood/Kawakubo fashion exhibition as for some reason , I have no idea how , comments had been turned off for that post. Fortunately for me Gail from at Is This Mutton let me know and I managed to correct the problem . Thank you so very much Gail for taking the time and trouble to contact me I am very grateful.
Following on from that post I will share a couple of my Melbourne purchases.I had seen this black dress with its tulle ruffle from Pluslavie online at Tiffany Treloar and knew it would play nicely with my other pieces in my wardrobe. I am rather pleased with myself as this was my first new clothing purchase this year. I styled the dress with a white Scotch and Soda white blouse with its oversize pussy bow and was pleased with how it turned out. I have already worn the dress , styled differently, on three different occasions so know it deserves its place.
My other naughty purchase also from Pluslavie was the long cross necklace that I have worn cross body but also works as a traditional necklace by doubling the long chain. It worked beautifully with my studded gloves from Paris that were a bought myself for my 70th birthday. This was my outfit last Tuesday when I met my friend Janet to share my photos of the exhibition.
Yesterday morning was a bit of change of scenery for our morning walk with Raffy . We started with a trip to Bunnings Hardware for a couple of things (a first ride in a trolley for Raffy) , then a walk to Seaport and a stop for coffee . It was a beautiful sunny day perfect for a walk by the river.
What a difference a few days make this the view over the river when Didee and I met for our walk on Saturday morning. Fortunately, even though it was foggy it was not at all cold and when that fog lifted it was a sunny day .

My outfit for our walk was a mix of old favourites , Moyuru pants and white shirt topped with a vintage velvet cape, Fly London shoes, Dior sunnies , little black hat and Jianhui earrings. The tartan tote was purchased at the gallery in Melbourne and was a nod to Vivienne Westwood’s use of tartan, I do enjoy a usable souvenir.
Joining Gail at Is This Mutton for Tuesday Twirl.
I always enjoy seeing your outfits, Jill! They are so perfectly you and just so cool! This new dress is definitely something that will play nicely with most anything I’ve seen you wear! I love that rather foggy photo. It’s got a bit of an Impressionist feel to it. I am now going to look for an overly long necklace (or maybe combine two) to wear crossbody. I’ve never seen that done before. It’s so striking and yet so simple!

Thank you so very much Marsha , I knew when I first saw the dress it would fit in so well. The cross body way of wearing extra long necklace is new to me too but I rather like it. The fog did create an interesting atmosphere that morning , so true it is like some of the Impressionists works.
Beautiful black dress with tulle. I was happy to see Raffy. Yes, I’ve tried commenting a few times but it would not post.

Thank you so very much Nancy , I was so very pleased with the dress. Raffy is doing so well almost back to normal. Apologies for your difficulty in commenting.
That foggy photo is amazingly atmospheric as is actual fog, unless one is driving in fog – that’s not so good. I adore your new buy and that long body white cross. I think I’ve seen one of those on Idaretobe which I look at every now and then. Oh and confession time! This week I have made 2 skirt purchases; one was on Idaretobe and a simple black bubble skirt. But oh wow, yesterday I bought the most amazing tulle skirt from, this time from a charity shop! I will show everyone on my next blog. It’s definitely a cruise skirt. I thought about you when I bought it and wished we lived nearer so I could show you my buy!
Love that tote

Thanks so much Penny , the fog is certainly atmospheric but I totally agree as I do hate driving when its foggy . I was happy with my Melbourne buys as already they have had a few outings. Yes you would have seen it on idaretobe as they carry the brand. Your new skirts sound just wonderful and I look forward to seeing them on your blog. Yes isn’t we are so far from each other , we have so much in common.
Looks like a lovely walk! I love your new dress, it really fits with your wardrobe! I went to a local boutique opening last week and bought a skirt that I plan to wear tomorrow! I am trying to wear my skirts more lately!
