Accessories I will admit are a bit of a passion of mine and I seem to have been collecting them forever.
I was asked recently to name a favourite accessory , an impossible task as I simply love and collect them all , hats, scarves ,belts, earrings , bangles , beads and necklaces, sunglasses, shoes and bags.
I have been collecting bangles for many years and have amassed quite a collection , some bought retail but mostly they have been found at thrift shops for a song. I stumbled across these colourful bangles from Sobral recently on Ebay and new they had to be mine, the kind seller also included the earings for free. I have a number of these now and they are always perfect with any colour or my blacks to add that pop of colour.
Black and white , an armload of bangles, sunnies from Preen , a little secondhand black hat and this wonderful black and white necklace from Jianhui London , a naughty online purchase last year.
This was my second Jianhui London purchase , the first the multi-strand one above was purchased locally a few years ago at a local boutique that is no longer trading. The large black and white earrings were found in Havana, Cuba this time last year. Every time I wear them I think of all the lovely people we met there and wonder how they have managed this last year.
Lately my eyes have been drawn to a touch of sparkle , I can see a new collection in the making. I am now on the lookout for earrings and bracelets , possibly a cuff.
I found this sparkly number at a local recycle store and donned it for the MG Car Club Annual Dinner last November.
Orange , always a favourite, this multi-strand vintage necklace works beautifully with the orange and wood earrings and the orange blooms on my cardigan and not forgetting the Crepescule rose behind me.
I am also a collector of gloves and love the way they finish an outfit. I often find vintage gloves at thrift shops for just a few dollars. The orange ones I am wearing here were purchased at a little glove shop in Paris back in 2016. Gloves are a great souvenir and take up very little room in the suitcase.
I found these magnificent long leather gloves at a charity shop also in Paris for just a few Euros.
Last Winter , a collection of accessories, long leather Dents gloves, Gucci sunnies, fluffy Rundholz wrap , aligator print belt and Trippen boots, the joy of Winter dressing, all the layers.
I enjoy wearing and collecting hats of all shapes and colours . My hat collection is quite a mixture , several vintage hats, a few hats from local milliner Susan McArthur , berets, fedoras, straw hats and boaters and turbans.
I adore both of these hats from talented Tasmanian milliner Susan McArthur.
A cream and rose embellished hat in the garden a couple of Springs ago. When I purchased this hat at a local recycle store I intended to remove the rose but it has grown on me and will stay.
Accessories are the finishing touches to any outfit and so much fun to play with and create many different looks. Have fun with them , stack those bracelets, layer the necklaces and scarves, try different hat shapes , find colourful gloves and tights .
Dressing is self expression and a creative outlet for me and my accessories play an integral role.
Enjoy your week everyone .
