Hello everyone , hope this find you well . Once again I have been missing in action , life has a habit of interfering with my blogging of late. After doing this for so long you really would hope I was way more organised than I really am , having posts on hand for unexpected happenings but this is not my strong suit . That said I do actually have plans to improve matters on that score.
We celebrated a long weekend here and after a productive Saturday in the garden , making it look loved again, John and I took a drive to Ghost Rock Winery on Sunday for an enjoyable lunch.
The family owned winery is on our states North coast about an hours drive from home in Launceston. This shot gives a small glimpse of the vines ready for the harvest. Along with our lunch , Vietnamese prawns for John and a beetroot and ricotta salad for me, we enjoyed a couple of their wines, a sparkling rose for me and a Fume Blanc for John. Over time I seemed to have developed a sensitivity to the tannins in many wines but am pleased to report that I had no problems .
Since our last visit , quite some time ago, various pieces of art have been dotted around the gardens of the winery.
After lunch John and I drove along the coast a bit more to Port Sorrell and Hawley . These are popular holiday spots and hold childhood memories for us both . Although these days the small holiday shacks have mostly disappeared and been replaced with large modern houses.
I was quite taken with this Italianate villa , it had way more character than its more showy neighbours with their cookie cutter architecture.
My outfit for the day was based around my navy and olive striped pants from Manuelle Guibal , worn with a Paula Ryan black tee and Pom Amsterdam blue jacket . The jacket has the most wonderful lining but you will have to take my word on that as I failed to show it at all here but promise to do so next time.
My accessories were a leopard print velvet turban from Alice Edgeley in Melbourne , Paula Ryan black leather OBI belt, Senso navy patent shoes , beads , cork earrings from Porto, Portugal , Preen sunnies and a much loved snakeskin print bag.

I do love this turban and its fun to wear.
What a sweet gift you give us to go along on this winery trip! 🙂 I enjoyed all your pictures and the evocative descriptions of the area. I can almost see the holiday shacks of past years. What a nice memory for both of you to see the shore. Stay safe! <3

Thank you for the introduction to Julia Clancy, I took a peek , you are right , there are a few that grabbed my attention.
The Italian Villa is a home that would have replaced older beach shacks.
I’m glad to hear your long weekend was enjoyable! Your lunch at Ghost Rock Winery sounds delicious, and I’m loving the artwork dotted around their garden. A visit to the coast is always invigorating in my book. Nothing like a breath of fresh sea air to restore the senses.
Your outfit is your usual mix of stylish and quirky and I’m particularly loving that stunning obi and your leopard print turban! xxx

It sounds like a great weekend! Last weekend was really busy for us with a short road trip and a wedding to attend. I do like the quiet weekends too, all a balance. That winery is beautiful. We need to take advantage of local ones and plan some outings.
