Feathers At The Gorge

Hello everyone, another week has simply flown and here we are already heading into August.

Since last weeks post I have worked an extra couple of days , completed my tax return , cut back a couple of climbing plants on the driveway fence ,  watching the Olympic games, (especially the athletics)  and enjoyed a very pleasant Sunday on a MG Car Club drive through the country followed by an excellent lunch . I did take my camera but it stayed in my bag as I was way too busy talking , so no photos. Sometimes I simply prefer to enjoy the moment and forget the photos , bad blogger I know.

Last Monday John and I visited the Cataract Gorge , a spectacular geological feature on the edge of our city. This is one of my favourite places to enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature in our city , it is a great place for walking. On this occasion we parked our car and wandered down the path to the grounds near the tearooms.

Due to our recent rain the Gorge was in flood , always an impressive sight.

My outfit for the day was admittedly not my usual walking attire . I started with my dark blue Rundholz skirt and a Paule Ka black knit then topped it with a dusky blue ostrich feather vest from Luxe Deluxe that I found at a local store a few months ago. I then added a pair of bright blue gloves that I found at a delightful little glove shop in Lisbon back in 2018 , floral Julie White socks and my Prestonzly white and black shoes that are designed and made in Melbourne .

Joining Jess at Elegantly Dressed and Stylish, Gail at Is This Mutton for Wow on Wednesday and Nancy for Fancy Friday.

Just had to include this one , I have a thing for moss.

Take care my friends , enjoy your week .

Jill xxx

Wow, I usually comment on your skirts (this one is divine) but your socks! They’re amazing! I do love them. The moss is nice.

Thanks so much Penny , we do both love our skirts. I will admit the moment I saw the pretty socks they would be worn quite a lot.

First of all those gloves!! What a spectacular colour. And then moss. I recently saw a program on the telly about moss. So very interesting. They’re are so many species and they are so incredible old. Like I said, very interesting.

Glad to hear that you too are interested in the beauty of different mosses. The program does sound interesting. I found the blue gloves at a little glove shop in Lisbon.

Stunning outfit, scenery and gorge. Oh how I love winter…coats, boots, gloves and hats, my collection is getting a great workout here in country Victoria. Our creek is also in full flight and bursting it’s banks. Love your work Jill.

Not the usual walking attire, but a very swoon-worthy outfit!
The skirt is a stunner, no matter how many times I’ve seen it, and I’m absolutely loving the ostrich feather vest!
The blue leather gloves, floral socks and black and white shoes are the perfect finishing touches! xxx
