Hello , I hope everyone had a pleasant Easter. We were treated with magical weather over Easter, clear , sunny days with temperatures in the mid 20’s C.
Ours was a quiet but productive Easter with many hours spent in the garden. A small tree was removed , along with the overgrown wisteria and jasmine that was threatening to taking over the camellias.
There is still more work to be done but it is looking so much better.
As well as gardening we were able to watch via a live stream our son Callum run at Stawell in Victoria. Callum ran well and made two semi-finals, proud mother here.
As a reward for our hard work John and I took a drive to the country to check out the Autumn colours.
Continuing my theme of wearing unworn Summer items my outfit was Maude Dainty black silk palazzo pants, white ruffle Mela Purdie shirt topped with a coral linen coat. I also added my Sobral bangles , cream Fendi sunnies and bronze Clergerie wedges that I really should wear more often.
Time to don my Easter bonnet , a favourite of mine made by Tasmanian milliner Susan McArthur. Last seen on the blog when my hair was longer and blonder a few Summers ago.
Looking at this photo I did like the longer , lighter hair , maybe I will go there again in time.
This rather clever hat is as good from the back as the front with all its clever details.
While taking our photos we discovered this rather ornate ironwork gate that once was an entrance to Quamby , once a working farm , now a golf course and event centre. Such a shame it is covered with blackberries .
A quiet time in the garden at present with a few roses , sasanqua camellias and this white dahlia.
I will finish this post with some lovely family news , our little Harry is to become a big brother late in September. Congratulations Zac, Sarah and Harry.
Joining Mica for Weekday Wear , Jess for Turning Heads Tuesday, Gail for Wow on Wednesday, Jacqui for Chic and Stylish , Nancy for Fancy Friday and Suzy at The Grey Brunette.
EASTER BONNET ENVY HERE!
LOVE THOSE WIDE LEGGED PANTS AS WELL…………..
CONGRATULATIONS PROUD MAMA!!
THERE IS NOTHING BETTER!!!

Thank you so much Elizabeth , I can see you in this hat too. We are looking forward to having another little one in the family. xx
Congratulations! What a happy news about another grandchild! And of course on your sons run! I like your hair a bit longer too. What a gorgeous hat, and outfit. Although we are in spring now, it’s white here today. I hate it, I want warmth and enjoy the outdoors. Ah well , can’t have it all right, lol. Enjoy your day Jill!

Thank you so much Nancy , we are very pleased. Spring always tends to be rather fickle here too , that’s why I prefer the settled days of Autumn.
Congratulations to Harry and all the family, what wonderful news!
That hat is fabulous, such a statement piece. x

Thank you so much Vix, I think Harry will be a wonderful big brother. I do love this hat and agree it is a statement piece.
First of all, congratulations on the happy news! Jos’s son and daughter in law are expecting their first baby in June, so I’ll be a step-grandmother 🙂
I’m pleased to read you had marvellous Easter weather. We had very Springlike, even summery temperatures in the week leading up to Easter, but the weather was in decline from Good Friday onwards. Oh well. We still did some work in the garden, though.
The outfit you wore for your drive in the country is stunning, and I love that Easter bonnet! xxx

Congrats on another soon to arrive grandchild, that’s so exciting! 🙂
this is a lovely outfit too, the hat is really pretty and I love the bright coral coat with the black and white 🙂
Hope that you are having a nice week so far.

Thank you so much Mica for your good wishes. I was pleased with how the coral coat worked with my black and white. I hope you had a lovely weekend.
Oh I love an Easter bonnet Jill – and loving your outfit with those extravagantly wide trousers, the rafish bonnet and the colour of that cardigan/coatigan!
It’s such a shame that the old tradition of decorating a bonnet for Easter has gone away – I looked into this a couple of years ago at a huge craft shop but they only seemed to sell kits for children.

Thank you Gail , I agree it is such a shame that the tradition of wearing Easter bonnets has almost disappeared. I am doing my best to preserve it with this hat.
Congratulations on the baby news! Fabulous hat, I love the whole outfit!
