Todays’s post has no particular theme hence the title . If this was written on the day I usually write Monday Musing would have been more appropriate but as it is now Wednesday not so much.
The outfit above is what I wore last Tuesday when I met my friend Janet for a catch up over several hours that also included copious cups of tea and some window shopping .
As often is the case I turned to my all time favourite black and white , a check black and white Moyuru cotton skirt topped with a new Sarah Puccinni knit that I found at Allstyle in Hobart recently.
I will also admit that I composed this outfit with my friend Suzanne in Melbourne (who is still in lockdown) in mind as I was keen to join her Instagram pattern clash challenge . Being not one to do so much on the colour clash front I opted for a mix of squares, stripes and spots instead. The spots were in the form of black and white spotted tights and the Jianhualondon necklace .
Lots to do in my garden , the milder weather and quite a bit of rain has encouraged not just the plants but also a good collection of weeds.
The garden is starting to put on her Spring colours , some plants are a little slow this year while others such as this pretty Oriental poppy are really early . Like most of 2020 there is no rhyme or reason.
Thursday was a designated public holiday here for a show that wasn’t taking place due to Covid and it was a raining cats and dogs , the perfect day for a wardrobe reshuffle , Winter to Spring/Summer.
I started by moving the Summer hats from their Winter resting place in the top cupboards of the wardrobe into their Summer home in my walk in closet , that in reality is my sons old bedroom that now houses many of my collections. This rather wonderful bust is a momento from Return to Splendour , a local recycle store, that closed recently as the lovely owner retired. I haven’t named her yet so any suggestion is most welcome. She is wearing an oversize hat that I found there at the end of last Summer.
This unit was in the bathroom but is now perfect for storing some of my many bangles , necklaces, earrings and handbags. The stands that display my bangles and earrings were in a store that I worked in a few years ago and became mine when the store closed.
A peek inside the newly organised closets , I may have way too many jackets and white shirts.
Friday was a work day and on Saturday after our usual visit to the market for vegetables , bagels and bread and a supermarket run I spent the rest of the day in the garden.
On Sunday we had some special visitors, Zac, Sarah and little Harry who joined us for lunch . It was a beautiful sunny day so enjoyed our first meal outside this season.

Your pattern mixing is always on top! And how wonderful is your bangles collection. Fabulous to have a room with all the clothes shoes and accessories!

Many thanks Nancy I did have some fun with this pattern mix. I have been collecting bangles for many years. It is handy having a spare room to myself.
Sounds familiar, as most of my own posts are a little bit of this and that 🙂 Last Tuesday’s outfit is stunning, I’m loving the pattern mixing of stripes, checks and polka dots! No clashing at all in my book! The colour of that Oriental Poppy is just gorgeous. I love Oriental Poppies! I’ve started my wardrobe reshuffle too – but the other way around of course. I’m in awe of how organized yours is. And finally, how cute is little Harry! xxx

In these days of staying close to home a bit of this and that does seem appropriate. I was pleased with the mix of patterns in black and white. I too love Oriental Poppies and have several in the garden . I must admit to enjoying the wardrobe reshuffle and rediscovering things I havent worn in a while. Enjoy your week Ann. xx

I certainly will keep an eye out for your jacket post Elizabeth, I always love a jacket as my closets show.
Yes , they are my son and little grandson Harry who soon turns two.
I always find it interesting how much Americans are interested in the royal family , possibly more than here and the Queen is still our Head of State. Hopefully you will eventually get to your nursery on their open days. Always lovely to hear from you.
I’m so envious of you meeting a friend for coffee and shopping, it seems like a long & distant dream since we last did that!
Such a fab outfit, I love the shape of the gingham skirt and that intriguing shed behind you! The poppy is gorgeous and those tulips are incredible.
Thanks for sharing your wardrobe and accessories photos, I’d love a rummage through those.
How lovely to have a visit from Zac, Sarah and little Harry. Hasn’t he grown? xxx
