Overdressed for a country lane , maybe, but who cares not me , far better to overdress than underdress is always my motto. In this instant a cream Ted Baker silk shirt paired with an inky blue Rundholz skirt.
I added cream brogues for a change from booties and leopard print tights .
I have owned the cream shirt for many moons but sadly it has been a tad too tight until recently . I am so pleased I don’t follow the conventional wisdom of replacing things that no longer fit, I always knew that in time it would again. On another note the bow on the back should be sitting so much flatter , this happened when I asked John if the bow is right . Lesson learnt check in the mirror yourself before leaving home.
My other accessories for the day were round Karen Walker sunnies , a mix of bangles , beads and a black leather OBI belt.
I do enjoy taking the time and composing outfits on a daily basis,( and it is so good for self esteem and mental health and a creative outlet)but neglect to photograph them for the blog . Hopefully this will change as when I finally purchase a remote so I can take my own without my trusty photographer .
After a visit to my hairdresser last week my hair is a little darker not quite me but it will fade and I am sporting a much shorter fringe .
I was not the only one sporting a new haircut , Raffy had a visit to Carol, our lovely dog groomer last week .
I am determined to add more colour this Spring and Summer , baby steps starting with a new eye shadow palette. I was a bit extravagant with this one as its Dior but know it will last me for ages.
The first of the roses are providing a few blooms for the house. I always have this little jug filled with flowers on my hall table. The joy of having a garden is cutting flowers for the house as I do enjoy arranging them .
A few blooms from the garden , a light pink clematis a self sown seedling from my sisters garden.
This dear little rose is Cecile Brunner , sometimes called the Sweetheart Rose, is one of my favourite early roses.
I love the faces on pansies and violas , excuse the pink tongue , photo bombed by Raffy.
My thoughts are with my blogging friends in Europe and the UK , please stay safe and healthy.

What a fantastic outfit, love that skirt and the blouse is amazing! Also love that Dior palette, looking forward to see how you used it! We are in a half lockdown and it is scary. Especially because so many people don’t care.

Thank you so much Nancy , I was pleased with the outfit. I am having some fun playing with the colours in the Dior pallette.
I have seen the situation worsening in Europe on our news , hard to understand why others don,t care. Take care Nancy.
I completely agree, selecting our outfits and enjoying some “me time” by playing about in our wardrobes and being creative is so good for our metal health.
I love the shape of that skirt, the bow on your blouse and the leopard print tights. My Jon never notices wonky garments and it drives me mad. I’ve tried using a self timer on my camera (don’t possess a phone) but never know where to look when I’m taking mt own photos and end up looking either deranged or gormless. Best of luck with yours!
Your hair looks fab (as does Raffy’s) and your Dior palette is a thing of beauty.
Lovely flowers especially the pansies and violas which really do have kind faces!
Thanks for your well wishes, it’s going from bad to worse here! xxx

Many thanks Vix, may we long continue playing in our wardrobes and being creative. It was the shape of the skirt that called me and I knew it would play well with other favourites. Glad its not just my John that doesn’t notice the details. It has been ages since I played with the self timer and it does take practice to get it right . I’ll see how it goes. All the best Vix. xx
THAT BLOUSE IS EVERYTHING!
YES, much easier to take your OWN PHOTOS!!!!!!There is a timer on your phone!
I am BAD about picking from the garden as I think they will LIVE longer there!I need to start bringing FLOWERS INSIDE!SO BEAUTIFUL your arrangement!!

Thank you Elizabeth , pleased to be able to enjoy the blouse again. I know I must practice taking my own photos with the timer as John is not always available. I know what you mean about cutting flowers but I always enjoy them both indoors and in the garden.
A post on jackets and coats is right up my street, look forward to reading. xxx
There’s no such thing as overdressed in my book, and surely a country lane in Spring does call for pulling out all the stops! Your outfit is an absolute delight, your Ted Baker blouse both delicate and daring, and the perfect companion for that inky blue skirt. And yes, of course, leopard print tights!
I actually do love the colour of your hair, and of course I fully approve of Raffy’s dashing new haircut!
Lovely to see your Spring flowers as we are heading into Autumn. xxx

Thank you Ann , so true a pretty country lane does call for me to be properly attired. I am so pleased to be able to enjoy wearing the cream blouse again and will enjoy styling it with newer items. I am still on the fence on my darker colour , time will tell.
Glad to share my Spring flowers as you head toward Autumn , I have so enjoyed your Summer flowers. Take care .
I really love that skirt and obi belt! I have been cleaning my closet again not so much things that don’t fit but things that I do not wear anymore as my style has changed some. I find I am attracted to variety right now! Different colors and prints.

Thank you so much Mirielle , I am pleased with the skirt and know it will get lots of wear. Our tastes do change over time , good for you for cleaning out your closets , I do too but not as often as I should.
Your blouse is so pretty, liking the back tie detail. You are very brave with the bright makeup, it just doesn’t work for me and I feel happier in browns. Such a cute little doggie, and what a sweet hair cut. Jacqui xx

Thank you so much Jacqui , I am pleased I kept the blouse as I love the bow detail. I am the same Jacqui , browns and creams are my usual colours but I am loving the brights although they are not as bright on as they look. xx
Raffy is so cute and I really like your outfit! the bow detail on the back is lovely! 🙂
Now my kids are bigger I can sometimes get them to take pics for me while we are out, but that doesn’t always happen! So I’m still taking photos of what I wear each day in my backyard with a tripod, haha! it’s the easiest way to do it 🙂
Hope that you had a good weekend! 🙂 Thanks so much for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup!

Many thanks Mica , Raffy is a little cutie and a bit of a poser too. I am so glad I kept this blouse , the bow was what sold me originally.
I have been playing with the tripod over the weekend , some OK results but more practice is needed.
Always my pleasure to join the link up.
The bow has its own charm this way, soft and full looking. I love how creative and extravagant you get with your outfits even staying at home, dear Jill! I am not like this myself, I go for something soft, comfy and warm for winter, and something easy and cool for summer. But I do enjoy dressing up whenever there is an opportunity to leave the house. Love the shapes and especially unexpected leopard tights. 🙂
Glad that you and Raffy treated yourselves! I too never worry if the hair is too short or the color is off (which doesn’t happen with my hairdresser, but it did in the past with others) – they will grow!
Much love!

Thank you so much dear Natalia , you have made me look at that bow in a much different light. I do try to still be creative with my at home outfits , unless I am in my garden then old and comfortable wins.
Glad you have found the right hairdresser , it makes such a difference.
Much love to you too my friend.
Great outfit! The skirt is wonderful. Raffy is so cute!
