Last of 2025

Hello everyone , hope all is well in your part of the world and for those that celebrate you had a wonderful Christmas .

In typical fashion I am running late with this post as today is the last day of 2025 so I will finish the year with a few outfits from late December.

This was my outfit when I met my dear friend Annie for lunch just before Christmas. Finally, it was warm enough to wear my new raspberry pink Dogstar skirt that I purchased earlier in the Spring. I wore the skirt over a spot tulle skirt as the lining was too short for me. I paired the skirt with a black Ted Baker top with a little tulle cap sleeve that is an old favourite. I also wore my new this year Fly London black sandals from the House of Shoes where I work from time to time , a mix of black and pink bangles , black Fendi sunnies and a cerise pink Charles Jourdan bag that I found at a recycle shop a few years ago now.

The climbing rose Cherub on the rose arch over our front entrance in full bloom always makes quite a statement.

I also wore for the first time in ages this black straw boater, I have missed wearing my hats and it does feel good enjoying them again. I was complimented on my outfit by a young woman who told me she liked my vibe. I will admit to being rather chuffed.

Raffy and I enjoying some summer weather in the garden. Black and white will always be my favourite combination , wearing my much loved Moyuru gingham skirt worn with a short sleeve Mela Purdie shirt , black and white necklace from the Salamanca market in Hobart, black and white bangles , Preen sunnies , Fly London sandals and black and white earrings that I found on my Cuba trip in 2020.

This was my outfit for Christmas Day this year, Rundholz tulle skirt , a bronze knit top worn over a black cami , gold flats from Tilly Rose , cream bangles and sparkles in my necklace and earrings. I will also add that for quite a bit of the day I was wearing an apron when I was cooking. My sister Lyn joined us for a brunch of fresh fruit and croissants and some bubbles . For the first time in a few years our youngest son Callum who had arrived a few days before Christmas also joined us for brunch.

Our other son Zac, his wife Sarah and our grandsons , Harry and Hamish joined us later in the afternoon . Callum’s partner, Georgie flew in from Melbourne in the evening.  We enjoyed a traditional Christmas dinner of turkey , ham and a variety of vegetable dishes followed by trifle and a chocolate and raspberry pavlova. It was enjoyed by everyone but I am feeling a need for a change is in the wind .

I decided this Christmas was a time for a bit of bling , in this case my crystal dangling earrings and this wonderful necklace that I love and really don’t wear enough . The necklace , earrings and the bangles were all second hand buys from the Vintage Red Fox.

Wishing everyone all the very best for a happy and healthy 2026 and a big thank you for reading my little blog and all your kind comments .

As always, Jill, you look amazingly chic and edgy! I cannot believe how gorgeous your roses are. I am hoping mine make it through the winter as I didn’t have time to cover them properly before the cold set in. I love that straw boater and can’t wait for the return of your other hats.

Happy holidays to you and yours!

Thank you so very much Marsha and a happy New Year to you . I do hope your roses survive your cold Winter. Fortunately our Winters are never that cold.
It did feel good wearing the boater again after a couple of years.

All your outfits are outstanding as usual. In fact they are gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! But I’m loving the fuchsia pink of the first one.

And gosh you must be a very tidy cook as I get stuff all over me when I cooked for Christmas (actually Boxing Day). I wore jeans! Loving the hair as well. It’s just right. Mine is getting to what I want but not quite there yet.

Here’s wishing you a very Happy New Year and all the best for 2026

Thank you so very much Penny . Initially I wasn’t sure about the pink skirt but after playing with it with different tops I know it will be worn frequently over the Summer.
I am a reasonably tidy cook but the full apron is still a necessity.
I feel that the hair is good but will grow it a bit longer .
Wishing you all the very best for a happy and healthy 2026.

That first outfit with that beautiful skirt… wow! I love it so much! I’ve always admired your collection of skirts and that one might be my new favorite of yours. I am glad you enjoyed Christmas with the family. I really enjoy our day after Christmas dinner with my parents and brother as we always do a sit down meals vs eating snacky foods around the kitchen.

Happy New Year to you Elizabeth, hope it is filled with joy for you and your family.
I remember seeing Charles Jourdan shoes in my younger years and loving them but they were out of my budget. I bought the bag second hand a few years ago and have no idea of its age.
I have done a few hours here and there at the shoe shop since last Spring.
Thank you so very much for your kind compliment.
