September Happenings

Hello everyone , hope all is well in your part of the world. Sitting down to finally write this post reminded me how lax I have been with my blog this month , especially as September seems to have flown by . Part of the problem at present is that my now elderly computer is so painfully slow and really tests my patience or should I say lack of but in the near future that will be corrected with a new and much faster one.

At present I far prefer to be working in my garden than arguing with a computer .

As I mentioned in my last post September 11th. was our 49th. wedding anniversary and John and I enjoyed lunch at one of our favourite restaurants Mud, so named because of the mud flats on the Tamar River.

My outfit for the day was my Dogstar giant spot skirt and long white shirt worn with a long Sarah Paccini vest that has been in my wardrobe for many years. I added black and white bangles , black and white earrings that bring back memories of Cuba and my Gaultier bag, a recycle find some years ago.

A back view of the outfit with the black and white United Nude boots peeking out. I had been to my hairdresser that morning and finally my bob is coming back , including for now at least my red colour. After playing with different styles I do feel more like me again.

I was so happy with this outfit , black and white and spots are just so me.

In typical fashion I neglected to get a photo of us together so I took this one of John as we were heading back to the car. Looking back over those years we have travelled the world together , renovated our house twice , raised our family , shared the heartbreaking loss of our daughter, supported each other in sickness and in health . Thank you John for your love and support .

Venturing out to Bunnings (hardware store) on a windy day to buy seedlings for the garden for me and other hardware items for John dressed in a mix of old favourites , Moyuru skirt , recycle top, red Trippen shoes , Japanese socks , red gloves and velvet turban.

In between fine days spent in the garden which now I am seeing results is enjoying again I have caught up with friends made during my working days and my MG car club friends and my school friend Didee for our Saturday morning walks. On the restore front we have had some house painting done .

Last Sunday was John’s birthday and we drove up to Lost Farm on our states north east coast for lunch , which we thoroughly enjoyed even though the day was very wild and windy. No photos as despite spending a great deal of time they failed to download , no idea why.

Well that was a brief round up of September , back soon.

Loads of great photos with immaculate and iconic outfits.

Just recently, I got near to your look with a black skirt of mine and a white blouse. I have printed out that sideways shot that shows the cut of your hair. So sharp, so good. That’s a very good hair cut. Style suits you.

September in the UK is getting, as it should, to being much cooler. So out have come the Autumn jackets. Three cheers as I do love Autumn and Winter clothes. Especially coats and jackets.

Congratulations on your long marriage! Great post – hope the IT gets sorted soon 🙂

Oh, how I love your skirts, Jill! They are just the most amazing things ever! As much as I liked your grey hair, I have to admit I love your red hair! It truly is you as is the bob! Happy Anniversary to you and John! We will celebrate 50 years next year. I’m not quite sure how that happened as it seems like I’m still in my 30s…well, maybe my 40s! I hope your new computer doesn’t give you fits. Mine has some little quirks, but I’m glad to have a faster laptop though photos never load quickly. Enjoy your coming spring!

Thank you so very much Marsha. I do love all my different skirts as I find they are much more me than dresses. I agree the red bob is just me. I know what you mean , how can we have been married for so long and where has that time gone.
The new computer will arrive in early November and hopefully my youngest son will set it up for me , I am looking forward to it being faster.

    Hi Jill,
I absolutely love your black and white outfit – and your hair is definitely you!
If you dressed as per the bottom photos with the turban you would have to be
the most stylish woman ever to grace the floors of Bunnings! Enjoy your garden,
    forget wrestling with the computer.
    Love,
    Elizabeth.

Thank you so very much Elizabeth. I will admit that you don’t see many women wearing turbans at our local Bunnings. I have taken your advice on board and weather permitting have spent a lot of time in the garden.
