Hello everyone , I hope this finds all well in your part of the world.
Last Saturday John and I travelled down to Hobart to meet up with our eldest son Zac , his wife Sarah and the boys, Harry and Hamish to celebrate Zac’s birthday. We met at Bellerive for lunch a delightful little cafe. It was a cool , grey day and I decided on my bright pink coat by Coop to brighten the day.
We parked our car near the Bellerive Yacht Club where I took this shot of the cloud covered kunanyi/Mount Wellington in the background.
After lunch we joined the family for birthday cake and coffee (adults only). I made the most of having the James boys together to take a few photos. Apologies for the lack of cropping on this one but it was my favourite shot of everyone. We did laugh at how they stood in descending height order , yes Zac really does tower over John. Looking at the boys and how quickly they are growing up , it seems like yesterday that Zac and Callum were their age. Harry will be seven in November and Hamish is four in October.
I rather like this shot of little Hamish deep in conversation with John. Hamish is quite a little character with the most delightful personality. His big brother , Harry loves school and started playing soccer this year. He proudly shared his collection of minerals and rocks and also his Pokeman cards with me.
I will admit to still not being sure if the pink coat is really me but I am warming to it and do prefer it open . I wore it over Moyuru black and grey pants , a black cardigan and a fluffy scarf. My accessories for the day were the Vivienne Westwood beret I found in Japan , silver pointed brogues by McQueen that I found at a recycle shop , Dior sunnies, a black leather bag with silver trim and silver and black earrings.

Your grand boys are adorable! The pink coat is a keeper. You know what to do with it and it’s a great length plus does it keep you warm and did I read? It was your birthday or the grandson‘s birthday? Gosh, my memories going anyway happy birthday to everyone! The little ones bring us such joy!

Thank you so very much Elizabeth. It was my eldest sons birthday and they are his boys . I am coming round on the pink coat and agree it is a good length and a good weight for cool days.
Happy birthday to your son! I do hope you’ll print that photo of the four of them lined up…what a cool memento of the day! Pink is not a color I think of for you, but that’s what makes it perfect! It’s unusual. If you accessorized with some steampunk hats, gloves, or other, it would be more you. Just a suggestion because we both know you’re one of my style icons!

That is one of my favorite shade of pink: so fun and bright! I love the ascending picture of all the boys!

Sounds like you had a wonderful day out with your son’s family. I’m sure it won’t be all that long before Harry is as tall as John 🙂
The pink coat is fabulous and brightens up a dull winter’s day no end. I’m also loving the colourful hat! xxx

Thank you so very much Gail, I was pleased how the pics turned out and the boys stood in descending order without a word from me. Yes the silver McQueen shoes were found at a recycle shop a couple of years ago. I know you are a fan of bright coats in Winter and am thinking that way too.
Rather late in the day I am commenting on that glorious coat – the colour is fabulous! I do think it is a keeper. And actually I love the entire outfit, hat and amazing shoes too.
Your family is delightful – great photos.
