Hello everyone , hope all is well in your part of the world.
This was my outfit when I met up with my friend Janet last week for a catch up over numerous cups of tea. We exchanged family news and discussed our recent Australian election results. You know you are getting older when your newly elected local member of parliament was my eldest sons high school girlfriend . After our tea we walked into town and visited the Vintage Red Fox , a favourite local shop where I have been fortunate to find many treasures over the years, but neither of us had any luck that day.
Now back to the outfit , a mix of items I’ve had for many years but for some reason hadn’t worn for a while . I bought the chevron stripe black and white poncho from Sass & Bide about ten years ago wore it a few times then promptly put it away and forgot about it but finding it again reminded me why I fell for it back then. I paired the top with a skort , which was my very first buy from Japanese brand Moyuru. I also wore a pair of long boots that have seen many Winters.
Black and black and white accessories were in order , black and white gloves purchased from a glove shop in Paris in 2016, black and white earrings purchased locally, a black heart brooch , a birthday gift in 2023 and my heart shaped sunnies.
On a fine , sunny day John and I made a last minute decision to drive to the town of Evandale for an enjoyable lunch at the Clarendon Arms Hotel. Once again my outfit was a mix of old favourites – the long leather skirt (a recycle find) , Paule Ka knit and Paula Ryan jacket(also a recycle find).
The town of Evandale holds special memories for me as it where I attended primary school so many years ago now. There have been many changes since then as it is on the tourist route with many beautifully restored buildings.
The all black outfit called for a contrast so I added a pop of leopard print with my gloves and tights , red and black earrings and my much loved vintage bag.
I am back to Craig , my hairdresser on Thursday for a slight trim as I am growing the hair back to my longer bob but I need advice should I return to the fringe (bangs) . All advice gratefully received.
Now to the something new , red patent leather shoes from United Nude from the House of Shoes , the shoe shop I am now working at from time to time. I absolutely love them , you are never too old for red statement shoes or anything else for that matter.
I have decided to take a break from the blog for a while as I am facing numerous tech problems that I hope my son can help me with when he visits in mid June. Even though my posts have been fairly simple of late they are taking me many frustrating hours to compile.
I have started on the garden restoration and need as much time there as I possibly can to tame the wilderness it has become.
In the meantime for anyone interested I will continue to post outfits on Instagram .
So bye for now , take care. xxx

You are truly a style icon, Jill! You just have this aesthetic that is unique and beautiful! I love seeing your fanciful accessories as well. I don’t have any advice as far as fringe as I’m battling my own decision to cut mine. I just can’t get them to behave! Hope your son is able to help. If you use WordPress, I think it’s them. It took me forever to complete a post yesterday.

Thank you so very much Marsha for your kind comment. I do like accessories and have amassed quite a collection over time. Those tech issues are so annoying , I do use WordPress so maybe that is the problem.
Hearing you on the tech problems, and I’m hoping your son will be able to help you out with them!
As for your outfits, they are both absolutely fabulous. Both the poncho of the first outfit and the jacket of the second one are stunning. I’m also loving the long leather skirt, which is something that’s lacking from my wardrobe! xxx

Thank you so very much Ann , glad I have found the poncho again and do plan to wear it as much as possible. A long leather skirt is a very useful item and with your clever thrifting skills you will find one . The tech issues are so frustrating , I too hope my son can help.
Oh wow, what gorgeous shoes. I love the first black and white outfit. I shall miss your blog but look forward to the many Instagram pics. Tech problems are so frustrating – hope the blog goes back to normal soon.

Thank you so very much Penny. I simply couldn’t resist the red shoes and knew they would work with much of my wardrobe. I do hope the tech problems can be sorted , they are so frustrating and Iam in no way tech savy.
What stunning outfits and the red shoes with the leopard tights is worthy of being a greetings card! I absolutely love your hair, the colour and the style. I hope your son sorts out your tech issues, I’ll miss you! xxx

Thanks so very much Vix . I do rather like the sound of a greeting card of the red shoes and leopard tights. Hopefully the tech issues will improve, so frustrating.
