Hello everyone, hope this finds all well in your part of the world. April seems to be slipping by so very quickly , it seems hard to believe Easter is upon us already.
Do you remember your parents and grandparents saying how quicky time passes and as a child that was so hard to understand . I certainly understand now as those weeks seem to simply fly by and it’s not that I am especially busy , maybe I just do things at a more relaxed pace.
Autumn days have well and truly arrived down here with cooler nights and mornings but mostly sunny days . I am enjoying the sunny days, but we really need some rain as it has been quite a while since we have had decent rainfall and everything is looking very parched. My poor garden is looking very dry and weeding is a nightmare as the soil is rock solid.
I really must post more regularly , I must admit to being rather lax this year so far, but I have had a rather social time with my close girlfriends as well as our monthly MG girls morning and a mid week MG dinner . I also have quite by chance started a new casual job at The House of Shoes . They were looking for someone for a few hours to fill in from time to time , this suits me perfectly as I really have no desire to work again on a regular basis . I have now done two shifts and enjoyed the challenge of learning something new and meeting new people , staff and customers. That said as one who loves shoes there may be many temptations.
I also have reconnected with my old hairdresser , Craig, who cut my hair for many years but left hairdressing to pursue a new career in real estate . I was rather pleased when I found out he was back and now combining both careers. You can imagine after nearly ten years we had a lot to catch up on and as a bonus I left with a cut that is the first step to getting my bob style back again.
Last weekend my sister , Lyn and I attended the Autumn show staged by the Launceston Horticultural Society held at the town of Evandale where we attended primary school. We have a connection to the society as our mother was a Life Member. The show is usually focused on dahlias but this year the seasonal displays and produce stole the limelight. I was most impressed with the variety of Autumn produce and clever arranging that went into this one.
Lyn and I were intrigued by this basket of hand knitted produce complete with a mouse , some folk are very clever.
Of course, no Autumn show would be complete without a pumpkin/squash display, I was rather taken with all the different shapes and colours. There were also several of the giant pumpkins, but my photo didn’t do them justice.
A sample of the produce baskets , so colourful . I am tempted to start a veggie garden next Summer but in reality, it probably won’t happen, and I will continue to support our local growers at our Farmers Market instead.
While admiring the floral art we were amused by this bee that had flown into the hall and made himself at home on the dahlia in this one. I was rather chuffed how my photo turned out.
My outfit was a collection of old favourites , M>Dainty pants , Moyuru oversize shirt , a vintage velvet cape , black earrings, sunnies , a little black hat and Hispanitas shoes.
Wishing everyone a Happy Easter.

Another fabulous and quirky outfit, and your bob is coming along nicely. I went through the same process when I started regretting my decision to have my hair cut short, and I’m so glad to have my bob back now. The colour is stunning too!
I’m loving the autumnal vibes of that final photo! xxx

Thank you so very much Ann. Like you I did come to regret the very short hair after a while and am looking forward to having my longer bob back , it feels more me.
Happy Easter to you, Jill! Time ebbs and flows for me which is ok because that’s kinda how I am. What a fun time you must have had catching up with your former stylist! I just love the different colors of pumpkins and gourds these days, and that knitted basket is something else! Love your look as always!
