Hello everyone , I hope all is well in your part of the world. Apologies for being missing in action , no excuse really just a lack of motivation.
Recently I have been embracing wearing more colour . I found this very bright patterned 1980’s at Vintage Red Fox a few years ago . Everything about it screams the 80’s from its giant shoulder pads to the gold buttons and unlike most clothing today it was made in Australia from wonderful Italian fabric. I wore the jacket with a much loved pair of Moyuru pants.
The jacket also gave me a good reason to don this little yellow pillbox hat that is made by French millinery label Marie Mercie that I bought on sale many years ago at Christines in Melbourne . I love the bow detail at the back.
I was riding the colour wave again when John and I went to the town of Westbury for lunch at the Distillery. On the theme of wearing what I own especially as we are heading toward Autumn I choose my Ted Baker blouse of many colours and the coffee coloured tulle Rundholz skirt . I added a cerise bag , a recycle find , a mix of bangles and the Hispanitas shoes I bought earlier this Summer .
Examining the texture on this magnificent old tree on the village green at Westbury that we visited after our lunch. I did enjoy wearing these colourful outfits but will admit I do prefer more solid colours as opposed to both pattern and colour.
On the subject of colour this was my outfit for a belated birthday lunch with my sister , Lyn. ( our birthdays were back in November). I really must remember to take photos of what I wear but habitually forget hence the flat lay, something I haven’t done for ages. It was a rather warm day in the mid 30’s C , so my yellow cotton dot Dogstar skirt was cool and comfortable paired with a short sleeved crop Harry Who jacket , a recycle find many moons ago . Accessories were black earrings, yellow bangle and black Trippen sandals.
Another flat lay , this time in my go to Summer favourite combination black and white . This was my outfit for an MG car club run , followed by dinner on a very warm night recently. Our drive took us down the river to Beauty Point for a very enjoyable evening. The outfit was much loved favourites , black Rundholz dress with a white Moyuru frill blouse over the top, white bangles, black and white earrings and Trippen sandals. I am making a concerted effort to wear these sandals more this year.
I hope you enjoyed a peek at what I have been wearing lately.

OMG Jill – I love the colours but especially the adorable yellow pill-box hat and that wonderful yellow skirt from Dogstar. All outfits though are absolutely fabulous.
Your hair colour is ace. Thinking when I’ve got my op done and dusted – I might do something different with my hair.
It’s lovely to see these outfits.

Thank you so much Penny the patterned brights are a bit of a change for me. I am fond of the little yellow pill box hat and miss wearing my hats hence the reason for growing my hair again. I will be interested in what you end up with if your change colour.
I will always love seeing what you wear, Jill! Your style is just so unique and iconic. The yellow pillbox hat is gorgeous! I haven’t seen any of those in years, but I think I’ll start actively looking for one! I didn’t really start wearing large florals/prints until the last few years. All the style gurus said short people shouldn’t wear large prints. Now, I just wear what I like.

Thank you so very much Marsha. I am rather fond of the little yellow pillbox hat even though I don’t wear it as much as I should. So true we all should ignore those silly rules and wear what we like.
I always love a peek at what you’ve been wearing, Jill. You’ve really got your very own inimitable style!
That jacket indeed couldn’t have been more 80s, and the Ted Baker blouse of many colours is a true delight. My favourite outfit here is the birthday lunch one, which is absolutely fabulous!
I too sometimes forget to take outfit photos, or rather, I only remember when it’s too dark outside. That’s when my assistent Angelica, the dressmaker’s dummy, steps in 🙂 xxx
