Hello everyone , hope this find all well in your part of the world.
My goodness October seems to have flown by , the first of my roses are in bloom and early next week we leave for our trip to Japan. I have been busy trying to regain some order in the garden , not sure I have succeeded but at least I have started , catching up with friends , cleaning the house as for the first time ever we have a lovely lady pet sitting Raffy , an appointment with my surgeon (all well) , a visit with my hairdresser and the usual last minute travel related things.
A couple of weeks ago I attended a function at local shoe store , The House of Shoes , to celebrate their 50th. anniversary , quite an achievement for a small business . There have been four different owners over that time and today is owned by Dianne , who has updated the business and introduced a variety of new brands to tempt us ( I know this from personal experience).
As it is Spring I wore my much loved black floral pants from Coop with a Maude Dainty black blouse with sparky buttons and rosette detail , a vintage bag, dangly crystal earrings and Hispanitas shoes.
I found these orange and lilac shoes at the House of Shoes earlier in the Spring and they went perfectly with the floral pants and orange socks I just happened to have in my closet, it would have been rude not to wear them on the night.
Another October outfit , my choice for our monthly MG girls coffee meet up. I started with the navy Rundholz skirt , paired it with an old black mesh top and an aubergine cropped jacket (a recycle find , many moons ago), a couple of multicoloured bangles , floral socks and navy Hispanitas patent and velvet shoes.
Once again I am only too happy to join Gail at Is This Mutton and my fellow skirt lovers on Instagram for the 7 Day Skirt Challenge . Spots were the order of the day for the first day , I paired a stone and black Moyuru top with a tulle Trellise Cooper skirt that has raised flocked spots (hard to see here I know), old cream brogues , bangles, cream Fendi sunnies and a recycled beige coloured hat.
I will admit to taking advantage of the challenge and playing with two skirts that I purchases this year and wore over the Winter by making them Summer ready. The first was the gold Rundholz skirt which paired beautifully with this Coop ruffle sleeve blouse and black Rykiel sandals.
The second skirt was the khaki multi-tiered tulle skirt from Brisbane based designer , Masayo , from Dogstar that I purchased when I was there back in April. I played with several different tops but this unusual recycled Comme de Garcon black one wins the day. I added some Robert Clergerie bronze wedges, beads , a collection of bangles, cork earrings and Dior sunnies.
Joining Gail at Is This Mutton for Wow on Wednesday .
Take care everyone , see you in early December . Hoping to post on Instagram while I am in Japan.

Gorgeous skirts as per usual – I absolutely adore them. It’s interesting seeing you in navy and aubergine as I always think of you in black and white and gold. The aubergine jacket is particular stylish.
Enjoy the coming summer months – and Japan!

Those floral pants are just amazing, Jill! And, the shoes definitely were the perfect choice! Your skirts are just fabulous…I really need to scout the brands out on the resale sites! I’m afraid my 7 skirts are much more pedestrian than yours!

Thank you so very much Marsha. I have had the pants for ages and they seemed just right for the occasion . Skirts really are my wardrobe staple as they do suit me more than pants , so I have collected quite a few.

50 years anniversary for a small business is pretty awesome! And a trip to Japan sound like a really neat destination. My sis in law is half Japenese and she was finally able to take her family there a couple years ago.
