Hello everyone, hope this finds all well in your part of the world.
Spring officially has started down here but Mother Nature had other plans as we were greeted with gale force winds , thunder and lightening and heavy rain . We were luckier than many in our area who suffered major damage and were without power for several days.
Exploring the garden after the storm and fortunately no real damage other than petals blown off the magnolia that was in full bloom , the bulbs lying flat and the camellias loosing their blooms.
I am wearing a mix of favourites , navy Rundholz skirt , a black Paule Ka knit worn with a much loved feathery vest.
As much as I would welcome some warmer days I am a fan of Winter dressing and I am ashamed to say there are a few items in my closet that I haven’t worn this Winter and hope to correct that over the next few weeks.
Having fun with accessories as usual , this time white Dior sunnies , a recycle find, Jianhui earrings , bright blue gloves from a little glove shop in Lisbon, Portugal , floral tights and white and black shoes from Preston Zly , found in Melbourne a few years ago now. Every time I wear one of the pairs of gloves from Lisbon I am reminded of my three trips there , it is a city I just love but know it is unlikely I will visit again so I will wear my travel memories.
Our local stores are now showing all the new stock for Spring but at this time nothing is calling my name . I am at the stage that if I am honest I really need not a thing so anything that I buy (new or secondhand) must be special and be able to stay with me for many seasons.
Raffy joined us in the garden , the dirty face tells me he had been checking everything out too.
Take care my friends . Joining Gail at Is This Mutton for Wow on Wednesday.

It seemed like every time our magnolia would be ready to burst into full bloom, we’d have a wicked windstorm and rain. I’m not sure I ever saw it bloom in all its glory! I do love the white accessories with this fun outfit. We used to have two Westies that would insist upon being Scotties! They were always digging in the garden. Our current Westie is not allowed out without being on a leash as we don’t have a fence. He’s never been a digger, but he does love to munch on the mulch in the beds. So, I have to keep a sharp eye on him. I’m glad you were able to avoid most of the storm, Jill.

Yes that’s often the case with our magnolias too , so disappointing. Raffy seems to be a sometimes digger fortunately. I know what you mean about the mulch too. I felt the dark colours needed a little lift with a pop of white. Thank you for commenting Marsha.
Glad you all didn’t sustain much damage from the gale force winds. El Paso is terribly windy. Especially in early spring and mid-fall. I imagine your garden smelled divine after the storm, with the magnolia and camellia bloom blown about. Somewhere not long ago, I tried on a vest much like your feathery one. I love things like that. Have a slightly less feathery jacket in a metallic pink that I need to show some love. Thank you for reminding me of it. Your tights are my favorite thing about your look – aside from the grand vest. You are a bit like a walking garden yourself.

Thank you so very much Leslie. Spring is our windy season too just as things are in bloom. Glad I reminded you to wear your pink feathery vest. I found the tights at an art gallery a few years ago now.
Love the contrast between the gloves and the darker blues. I like winter clothes too. More texture and layering opportunities. My garden is already looking a bit bereft of colour. Have a good week Jill.

Thank you so very much Gail , I was happy with all the different blue shades. I agree with you on Winter and will look forward to your outfits as you head into Autumn/Winter. My garden is the same and the colour goes very quickly.
Awww…Raffy is so cute, dirty face notwithstanding.
Fabulous outfit as always, I detest strong winds and I’m glad your gorgeous garden survived without much damage. xx

Thanks so much Vix. Raffy is quite the poser. I can cope with most weather but strong winds cause so much havoc.
I’m sorry to hear about the gale force winds but glad to hear your garden did not sustain any serious damages.
Loving your quirky, trade-mark outfit as always and how cute is Raffy, dirty face and all 🙂 xxx

I love the feathery vest and the white accents of the earrings and glasses. Glad you escaped the storm relatively unscathed. Raffy is gorgeous!
