Hello everyone , hope all is well in your part of the world.
On our recent trip to Hobart I purchased a new skirt that I had seen online when it was shown in New York last year at a trade show. The skirt is from Brisbane based designer Masayo and her label Dogstar.
The skirt is from her Summer collection that was released for the Northern Hemisphere season several months ago but has just arrived down here. I was keen to wear my new skirt despite the fact that it is still rather cold here so I had a play in my wardrobe and came up with a few Wintery outfits . Mind you had my thermals underneath.
The skirt is a wonderful mustard yellow with black dots , reminding me of the art of Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. The mustard/yellow colour in Japan represents courage . In Japan yellow is a symbol for youth, light, hope and change.
For my first outfit I paired the outfit with a Hansen and Gretel short black velvet jacket worn over black knits ,yellow gloves and yellow earrings (both bought last year in Lisbon) , black Hispanitas shoes and Dior round sunnies. I purchased the jacket locally from Yeltour using the voucher I received when I did the TV ad., which I have now seen some snippets from and I must say I am rather pleased that I stepped out of my comfort zone and accepted.
For my second outfit I added the very warm Rundholz shrug , an interesting leather belt (a recycle find ) , black studded Ted Baker gloves, Trippen shoes and YSL sunnies.
The garden is showing early signs of coming to life again with the first of the hellebores and a few early bulbs.
This shot shows why I love wearing black , either on its own or with a colour , as it is always about a combination of textures for me . Still deciding what to do about my hair , to keep it longer on top , go spikey , a pixie cut or grow it back to a bob- these are a few options I am floating . I have an appointment on Tuesday so I must decide by then.
Raffy making a guest appearance for the third outfit .For this one I simply added a much loved leather jacket from Harry Who that I have had for many years , a little wool beret style hat (a recycle find) , Dior sunnies, black boots and my black crystal studded gloves , my birthday gift to myself that I bought in Paris.
The jacket in close up , each small square has a stud adding texture and interest .I really should wear the jacket more often.
Joining Gail at Is This Mutton for Wow on Wednesday . Apologies for running late.

Wow that’s one amazing skirt, Jill. And how lovely to see you wearing something yellow and OMG that last jacket – beyond words. It’s fab. I will look up that name.
RE: the hair, spikey sounds interesting! I’ve found a new hairdresser and trust him to get my hair back to how I want it. If you trust yours have a good discussion.
Fan-tactic clothes as ever.

What a fabulous skirt that is! I recently bought a similar one in dark red, so taking some style inspiration from you! Your black jackets are beautiful.

Thank you so much Sheila , I am pleased with the skirt. I will look forward to seeing your red one. I will admit that I have quite a few black jackets.
The skirt is absolutely stunning, and I’m loving how you winterized it in your own typical, quirky style! That’s what thermals were invented for, surely 🙂 Swooning over that fabulous belt too! xxx

Thank you so very much Ann. I am pleased with the skirt and know it will be a much worn addition to the wardrobe. Thermals are the best invention. The belt was one of those lucky finds that I know you know well.
That is one amazing skirt!! You’ve done a great job in winterizing it. I love the Yeltour jacket. I’ve now noticed you have a rather amazing collection of designer sunglasses. I wouldn’t know where to start if I had access to your wardrobe! Thanks for linking

Thank you so very much Gail. I am pleased with the skirt and know it will serve me well , all year round. I do have a collection of sunnies (probably too many) that I have managed to collect over the years. Always my pleasure to join the link up.
Jill, this skirt is so wonderfully you! As I was looking at it, I was thinking of the Kusama exhibit our museum of art had a few years ago. And, then you said that’s what you thought, too! I love that unique belt, but all of the outfits are just amazing!
I invite you to link up with us on Weekend Traffic Jam Reboot on Thursday (probably your Friday).
