Autumn Colour

Hello everyone, hope all is well in your part of the world.

After some very much needed rain had cleared John and I set off in search of Autumn colour but to no avail as the trees seem to be a tad later turning than usual. We have had some very warm weather of late so I was pleased of a cooler day when I could wear a couple of old favourites , the coral OBI jacket and Maud Dainty blue grey pants.

I do love these pants and their unusual style and have had them for several years but really don’t wear them as much as I should as they are too warm for high Summer and too light for Winter so their time is now. On a side note they are sods to iron.

I had a bit of fun with today’s accessories – the brooch is cork and I bought her in Portugal on one of our trips , I do like wearing my memories , the earrings are vintage found at a thrift shop and the sunnies are Karen Walker .

I also added these fingerless gloves , from a little glove shop in Paris , a birthday gift from John .

Since my last post John and I have organised a three week trip interstate just after Easter. Starting in Melbourne for a few days , we will visit Sydney , Mudgee , Armidale, Byron Bay, Noosa and Brisbane,a combination of city , beach and country. This is to celebrate good health reports for both of us.

Have a good week everyone .

I love the fingerless gloves: such a unique accessory. I enjoy buying souvenirs I can wear… especially if they are versatile. I have a blouse from France that reminds me of our trip each time I wear it.

The trees might be a tad late this year, you did provide some Autumn colour of your own with your gorgeous coral jacket! I’m a big fan of your cork brooch and fingerless gloves. I’m loving the unusual trousers, but I’m definitely hearing you: I’ve got quite a few garments I hardly ever wear for falling between two seasons, and I do tend to neglect those which are sods to iron 🙂
Your upcoming trip sounds exciting! xxx

A lovely outfit Jill! We’re starting to see the trees changing here where we live in the Snowy Mountains of NSW, the temperatures this morning was only a crisp 4 degrees but getting up to a respectable 20 or so later. Enjoy your trip away, sounds like bliss and great news on health reports for you both. We’re in the middle of planning a trip back to the UK to visit our daughter and family especially Miss Dottie who will be turning 5 in August. #wow

Thank you so much Debbie. Your temperatures sound much like ours , cool mornings and lovely sunny days. We are both looking forward to the trip , a mix of old favourites and new for me . How exciting to be planning a return UK visit for your little granddaughters birthday.

    Hi Jill,
I love this post! I commented on Instagram but now seeing this on my desktop pc is
even better. Those pants are amazing.
I always love the settings for your posts – fabulous fashion surrounded by beautiful bush
    and art this time.
Interestingly, JB and I have an Autumn Tour planned travelling south at the end of April to
see autumn colours and be able to wear our winter coats – via Tamworth and Mudgee!
I would love to meet for a coffee in Brisbane if we’re both here on the same dates and if
    time permits for you.

Thank you so much Elizabeth I do like these interesting pants and must wear them more. The photos were taken in a parkland and picnic spot not far from home. I can imagine the appeal of leaving the heat and humidity of a Brisbane summer and enjoying some cooler weather and Autumn colour and wearing those coats.
I would love to meet up for coffee if our trips align.

How lovely to have a trip to look forward to, especially with Winter approaching.
Those trousers are fabulous and your birthday gloves from John show off your beautiful nails perfectly. I love how you’ve described that brooch as “wearing memories”, I do the same with how I dress, every item tells a story. xxx

Many thanks Vix , it will be good to head north before Winter.
I do like these pants and must really wear them more. I love the gloves and they too have the memory of buying them in Paris. There is much to be said for telling a story with what you wear .
