Styling Fun and Family Time

Hello everyone , hope all is well in your part of the world today.

Autumn has made an appearance here with much cooler mornings and nights but with bright, sunny days. Fortunately Autumn is my favourite season and the perfect excuse to have fun with outfit styling.

The outfit started with the coffee coloured Rundholz tulle skirt I purchased last year . When I found the skirt I envisaged wearing it in all seasons and dressing it up for more formal occasions or paired down for an everyday look.

Today I paired the skirt with a new Pom Amsterdam  navy abstract print top from local boutique , Yeltour. The boutique celebrated 50 years in business last year and I was fortunate to receive a gift voucher to spend on Pom Amsterdam . I had been anxiously waiting for new items to come in to the store, worth waiting for I feel.

Just for fun I added my vintage top hat that I found at Red Fox Vintage last year. I was thrilled to finally find a vintage top hat that was small enough. I wonder if it was made for a boy for a special occasion. The hat came with its original hat box too, a bonus indeed.

Trippen shoes were my choice for the day . I discovered Trippen shoes a few years ago and admit I now own a few pairs in different styles and colours. Not only do they fit my style , they are so comfortable.

I had to include this shot , this is what happens when the photographer(John) has to include his other love kayaking .

Last weekend was rather special for our family as it was the first time we had all been together since Christmas 2020. Our youngest son Callum and his girlfriend , Georgie, flew over from Melbourne for a long weekend. What with lockdowns in both Melbourne and  here in Tasmania last year and Callum working in Thailand a family time was in order. We drove down to the historical town of Richmond where we met our eldest son Zac , his lovely wife Sarah and their little boys Harry and Hamish.

Uncle Callum with baby Hamish , now five months old . Nothing like a growing baby to make you aware of how quickly time flies.

The boys together , Zac, Callum , Harry now three and little Hamish taken in the front garden of Zac and Sarah’s home at Seven Mile Beach. Later in the day we walked to the beach and watched Harry paddle in the waves and play in the sand, this certainly brings back memories .

Joining Gail at Is This Mutton for Wow on Wednesday (late again)

and Nancy for Fancy Friday.

Family and friends time is what we have missed a lot, don’t you agree? And with spring arriving here early, it’s fantastic to meet each other in the sun again! That’s a fabulous outfit, the top is amazing!

Lovely photos of your boys, Jill!
I love the design on your sweatshirt and Jon’s a big fan of Lock & Co. Funnily enough he left one of their antiqued leather flat caps behind when we went out for dinner on Tuesday night, the waiter very kindly hand-delivered it an hour ago! xxx

Thank you so very much Vix , it was lovely seeing them together again.
I am not usually a sweatshirt fan but loved the graphic design on this one. Now that is service delivering John’s flat cap. I can imagine his collection. xx

That’s a stunning outfit, Jill. The skirt and graphic top are just perfect together and I’m swooning over that vintage top hat! I had a giggle at John’s kayak photo, but at least it gave us a proper look at our shoes. I’m loving the chunky heels!
Your long-overdue family reunion must have been wonderful, and you are so right about growing babies. It’s hard to believe that our grandson (well, Jos’s actually) is nine months already! xxx

Thank you so much Ann , I was pleased with how the pieces played together. I do love the vintage top hat and must wear it more often. I just had to include The kayak photo and the shoes.
It really was wonderful having the family together again . I remember when the little one in your family arrived, that time has flown.
