Hello everyone , hope all is well in your part of the world . As the blog title eludes this post is really just a mix of whatever is taking my fancy at present.
At the top of my list is playing in my closet and creating outfits . I am working on challenging myself to leave my comfort zone and experiment more with the items I already own.
Starting as I mean to continue with adding colour , in this case an orange and white spot vintage Christian Lacroix cotton blouse with huge puff sleeves , big collar and gold buttons. Frankly the blouse is a tad too small ( one day it may meet) so I added a wide white belt and viola a jacket. I wore the blouse over a white tank top and paired it with wide M. Dainty blue grey pants and white sling back shoes.
I added a head wrap (using a blue cotton scarf), cream sunnies, big earrings and multiple strands of long beads. Accessories always a way to ring the changes in my book and they are fun to collect and don’t break the bank.
I am soon to walk down a new path in life , so we will see where that will lead and I am open to new challenges and beginnings.
Enjoying the delights of Summer produce , the lemons from our garden , the heirloom tomatoes , eggplant , capsicum and courgettes from the local farmers market. The green cabbage leaf Portuguese china plate was a Christmas gift from John , the blue and white china , another of my loves has graced the dresser for over 40 years.
Summer has been rather hot and dry this year and the garden is not looking its best but this rose , The Children’s Rose is thriving. It is so pretty with a lovely perfume .
I have been spending time in here re-reading many of my collection of fashion books . I have just finished the autobiography of the late Andre Leon Talley , a sometimes sad but interesting read on the fashion and magazine industry. I am now reading Grace (Grace Coddington) , former model and fashion director of Vogue.
Raffy in all his cuteness was a must to be included. He is such a little character and brings so much joy in our lives. One of his funny little traits is to welcome us home with a present , it may be a shoe, a piece of paper , in fact anything he can find.

The blouse as a jacket is perfect: i have done that with a shirt dress that was too small to wear: it is now a perfect long vest! Lovely rose! I am looking forward to spring and planting some zinnias, cosmos and sunflowers.

Thank you Mirielle , it is a good trick to still wear a too small garment. The rose is so pretty, enjoy your Spring planting when your weather is right.
Now I want to know what changes you are making in your life! Love that leave plate. And lemons from your own garden! They must smell and taste amazing. What’s it with the miniatures? How fascinating are they!

Thank you Nancy , I will say more abut the changes as soon as I can. I love the plate too , it reminds me of our travels in Portugal. The lemons do taste and smell rather lovely.
The spotty Christian Lacroix is fabulous, and I love how you solved the problem of it being a bit small by adding the wide belt. Some great pattern mixing with the striped trousers too!
How satisfying it must be to have lemons from your garden and produce from local farmers.
I’ve got a collection of fashion books waiting for me, but reading has been unusually slow for me lately.
Always lovely to see photos of cute little Raffy! xxx

Thank you Ann , I found the Christian Lacroix blouse a few years ago and it is an all time favourite even though it may never really fit me as it was intended. I was happy with the white belt look .
It has been a really productive year for the lemon tree. We have been enjoying all the wonderful seasonal produce .
Love the jacket, it’s just fabulous. The whole look is very edgy and nicely put together

Thank you so much Anna for taking the time to comment , most appreciated.
Raffy is adorable! We stayed at a B&B in Canada years ago and they had a dog that looked much like Raffy. Whenever new guests arrived this dog did the same thing. But when we arrived it brought us the owner’s underwear from the laundry basket!

Thanks Joni, he is a cute boy. That’s hilarious , fortunately guests have never been presented with our undies.
