Hello everyone . Well October has come and gone in the blink of an eye and despite all my good intentions to return to blogging on a more regular basis for a variety of reasons that didn’t eventuate.
November is always a busy month with many family birthdays (mine included) , MG Car Club events and various garden related happenings, this is peak rose flowering time here. The blog also celebrates its 8th. birthday too.
Last Monday was a public holiday here and John and I drove to the town of Evandale to take blog photos but also to enable me to get used to a new car ( a secondhand Mazda) with more electronics than I was used to. My outfit for the day was a pair of dark floral pants from Trelise Cooper (this will be their 3rd. Summer and I love them as much as ever ) paired with a black cotton frilled blouse , also Trelise Cooper.
I also added a black and gold patent leather belt, a favourite black boater , orange bangles , Gucci sunnies and black suede bow flats.
A back view showing the pleated ruffle ,I always enjoy a garment that is as good coming as going. I knew the moment I saw this shirt it would fit beautifully into my wardrobe as it will work with so many existing items .
Over the last 8 years I have had so much fun exploring new styles , shapes and colours ( but still often returning to black and white) and sharing them here . Some worked well , others not so much but that is the joy of playing with our style isn’t it. I do find as I get older dressing is so much more about self expression than practicality and way more fun.
The first of the roses are now starting to bloom , the pink one is Fatin-Latour , a fragrant old rose and the apricot is Crepuscule , a climbing Noisette.
A big thank you to all who take the time to read the blog and share a little piece of my world .

Oh don’t start me on electronics on cars, there is just too much. I feel the older I get the more I really wear what I want. Don’t care about where I’m going or the weather or whatever. Enjoy the events!

Those pants are gorgeous! I have had more fun with different shape pants this year. They are fun! Beautiful roses: your garden is always a little piece of paradise.

Happy birthday Jill, and congratulations on your blog’s 8th birthday too!
Your wide dark floral trousers and pleated blouse are absolutely fabulous, what a stunning outfit that is, and one which certainly worked extremely well. And I’m quite envious of those gorgeous roses! xxx

Thank you so much Ann for your kind wishes. I do love a dark floral and these pants are a favourite . The ruffle on the black blouse called my name and I knew it would be so good with the pants. The roses are now all coming in to bloom.
What wonderful clothes and yes, that ruffle, but also your tiny waist! Happy Birthday to you and your blog. Also love this amazing floral trousers – just wow!

Thank you so much Penny for your good wishes. I always love a dark floral and fell for these pants about three Summers ago and still love them as much as when I bought them . The ruffle is really what sold me on the black too. My waist has always been small (compared to my hips, a good pear shape).
