Stripes and a Vintage Hat

Hello friends . I hope this finds everyone safe and well . All is well here in our little bubble in Tasmania and life continues mostly as normal. This is one time in my life that I appreciate living on a small island at the bottom of the world. I do feel for my fellow bloggers around the world in these difficult times and am often unsure if posting my out and about daily life, knowing this isn’t possible for many, is the right thing to do. Please let me know your feelings on this.

Today’s photos were taken at the Trevallyn Reserve , a popular spot for walking and biking. We had just taken Raffy to the dog groomer for his mid Summer hair cut at the dog groomer in a nearby area.

I do enjoy walking here but I have a fear of snakes ( a long story ) so not so much in Summer.

My outfit for today is a matching pants and jacket by Manuelle Guibal in a dark navy with an olive green stripe , a brown recycle belt, an orange necklace , Preen sunnies, vintage hat and Paco Herrero shoes.

Earlier in the day I had re-visited recycle store , Return to Splendour , that had re-opened again. It was my lucky day as recently a lady had parted with three wonderful vintage Summer hats. This one was made from the finest , woven flax and finished with a silk bow. I fell for its interesting crown .

I may also have come home with a little black jacket from New Zealand designer Paula Ryan , a black leather and gold belt , a black wool hat with flower trim (not showing well here) and the other two vintage Summer hats. The collection of bangles were picked up at a charity shop nearby for next to nothing.

Oops , forgot to resize this . Raffy is one happy dog after his haircut . The weather of course has been much cooler this week.

The garden continues to delight with its colour. I picked the last few lilies to save them from being destroyed by the high winds we have had of late.

I simply love to see your travels and you being out and about – carry on blogging about another way to live! I say this because are very locked down at the moment and the weather is cold, wet and grey, so your blog posts are a lifeline and it’s a very positive feeling reading them!

Love your outfit and the hat x

I love reading about what you are doing! That is my favorite part of this blogging world: seeing other parts of the world and how people are doing and how their part of the world looks different! I love your matching pants and top and that belt is really neat. Looks like you had good luck at the consignment store! I found a couple things at the one near my mom. There was a beautiful purse there , Kate Spade but way out of my price range. So I stuck to clothes!

Thank you Mirielle , sharing our lives with fellow bloggers is my favourite part too. I did have great success at the consignment store , taking home some real gems, the belt included. Good idea to stick with clothes , better value , bags are often expensive here too.

Please do continue your out and about posts, Jill! It’s good to know that there is at least some place in this mad world where things continue as normal! And what a lovely place you have taken us to. Your matching pants and jacket are very chic, and how lucky you were to find those hats! I enjoyed seeing more flowers from your garden too. I can’t wait for Spring to begin, but I was pleased to see that two of my Hellebores have got flower buds! Yay! xxx

Thank you Jacqui, it has been ages since I’ve had a suit of any kind but I know I will often wear these pieces separately. Always my pleasure to join your link up.

The only thing that bothers me is that gorgeous summer weather! Haha, but more of envie ness. If that is a word! Love your suit, pinstripe always has something elegant and cool ness ! I seem to have a thing for ness today. We have new rules here. No more then 1 person in your house to visit, restricted flights and a evening clock. It’s getting worse and worse. Luckely your place is safe. I saw a television program last week about Tasmanie. Woww it looks out of this world!

Interesting you saw a TV programme on Tasmania . Yes we are lucky down here , the advantage of living on an island . I must agree stripes have that certain something. Sorry to hear new rules have been imposed for you . Take care Nancy.

Such an awesome striped outfit and I like the pop of colour with the necklace! 🙂 You got some great finds at the shops too! 🙂

I do feel a little bad when European and American bloggers have a lot of lockdowns – but I’ve also seen some American bloggers openly admitting to flouting the rules and restrictions they have in place so maybe showing them how we are able to explore and shop and almost do life as normal would encourage them to do the right thing until things get safer, ha! We are sticking with low-risk activities close to home still for the time being anyway, walks and things that they can already do for their exercise!

Thanks so much for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup! Hope that you had a great weekend 🙂 We managed to spend a lot of time outdoors which was fun 🙂

You have a good point Mica , we are lucky here in Australia but most of us have been very stringent following the guidelines. Always my pleasure to join your link up.
