After several days of rain today was a bit clearer but grey skies continued so I was in need of some colour so out came that purple jacket again. The purple jacket is by Ted Baker and has been a special Winter jacket for many years and has featured on the blog many times. This got me thinking , does it matter from a blogging perspective if the same garments are on repeat year after year. For me the answer is no as this is how I dress , wearing things I love year after year , styling differently each time.
The jacket was simply paired with black wide leg pants, silver Neo boots, a selection of beads , a little black hat , a recycle find a couple of years ago and cobalt blue gloves .
The necklaces , there are two, are glass beads in various colours and shapes , one was an op shop find for a couple of dollars and the other one was a gift from John many years ago. The cobalt blue gloves were a purchase from Luvaria Ulisses, a tiny little glove shop in Lisbon, Portugal, on my visit there last November. I know it is unlikely I will ever return to Lisbon so wearing these gloves will bring back happy memories of a city I loved visiting.
The highlight of this past week was a trip down to Hobart to spend some time with my son Zac, daughter in law Sarah and little grandson Harry, now 7 months old. We enjoyed lunch together and of course many cuddles with little Harry.

I like it when I see a garment I have seen before on a blogger! We don t wear our clothing Just once right! Again beautiful gloves! Love the way you wear the neckkaces, over the coat!

I am so pleased you feel the same about repeat outfits Nancy , this is real life for most of us. The gloves are also a change of colour for me and a bit of a challenge but I do love them. Thank you for visiting Nancy.
This purple jacket looks great on you. I love how you accessorized it. The necklaces look perfect!

Many thanks Ivana , purple is a bit of a change for me but I do quite like it and I have always felt good wearing this jacket.
You look fab, as always. And of course you can (and should) repeat the same garments. That’s the whole point of blogs: to show how real people dress. And real people wear the same clothes again and again. Besides, it’s better for the environment, too, if we wear the clothes we have instead of always buying new ones. The way I see it, that’s our mission as bloggers: to promote sustainable consumerism (= only buy what you plan to wear again and again, or shop your closet). That and showing that real women of all ages and sizes can look fabulous.

Thankyou so much Tiina. We most definately are on the same page on repeating the same garments. I totally agree with you about promoting sustainable consumerism through our blogs.
That is such a stunning jacket, I can see why it’s a favourite! I like the blue gloves with it 🙂
I think it makes sense to blog favourite pieces over and over! I just blog what I wear too and my latest post is 30 ways I’ve worn something – I think there’s more value seeing how someone rewears something than just seeing an endless stream of new things!
I hope that you are having an awesome week 🙂

Thank you so much Mica, the purple is a change for me but I always enjoy wearing this jacket. i am glad you feel the same way about showing the same items on our blogs, this is real life and that’s the way we dress. Always my pleasure to join your link up, enjoy your weekend.
Sounds like a wonderful time with family Jill! I love that jacket, the shape is awesome on you and how you paired it with your gloves in another jewel tone looks brilliant! The necklaces add a lovely touch as well. I could use some new things for fall winter, but will also be styling some of my favorites again for the blog, in a new way.
Have a wonderful day!
thanks for linking!

Thank you so much Jessica, even though I really don’t have many items I am always drawn to the depth of colour of jewel tones. Funny isn’t it how we are in the middle of one season and already thinking of what to wear for the next. Always my pleasure to join your link up.
