Winter Reunion

Winter reunions with a few of my old favourites from my wardrobe was a necessity on this frosty morning.

I started with the leopard print coat , bought locally nearly twenty years ago , then added my black leather skirt , a recycled find a couple of years ago , black knit, leopard print gloves, vintage hat , found in Melbourne a while ago, Preen sunnies and a fur collar.

I found the fur collar at a local vintage store some time ago for a very reasonable price and imagine my surprise when I saw the name on the ribbon.

I would never purchase a new fur item but I do view vintage fur in a different light . I know this is a contentious issue but I see wearing vintage fur as recycling and therefore reducing waste.

Taken in my Winter garden last week , once again reuniting with old favourites , a Verge skirt many Winters old, black ruffled Paula Ryan jacket , a recycled find , black hat found in Portugal, long black leather gloves , a thrift shop find and vintage black bag.

It has been a week of reunions- I attended my High School 50th. Reunion ( where has that time gone) last Saturday at a local golf club. It was rather interesting meeting old school classmates , many that I hadn’t seen since leaving school,. I am still close friends with my best friend  from school days, Dianne and we attended together. We also hit the dance floor , she is my Zumba buddy and we figured we shouldn’t miss the opportunity to show our dance moves.

Joining my friends Patti at Not Dead Yet Style, Jess for Turning Heads Tuesday, Mica at Weekday Wear Link Up, Nancy for Fancy Friday.

That’s a fab coat! I find leopard print a bit of a challenge to wear in bigger pieces, but you look amazing in this coat.
And Zumba! That sounds like fun.

Thank you Tiina, I have worn this coat for many years and still enjoy it every Winter. Zumba is a lot of fun , especially as I go with my friend.

I really like the leopard print coat with the gloves. I completely agree with you on the topic of vintage fur. I see wearing vintage fur as a way of reducing waste. What will happen with vintage fur if it doesn’t get worn? It will just create more waste and that is the last thing we need. Personally I don’t wear fur because the climate I live in is too hot for it, but I’m not against fur in general. I was when I was younger but now that I’m older and wiser I see that things are not always as simple as they seem.

Thank you so much Ivana, glad you liked my old favourite leopard coat. So true that the wearing of vintage fur is a contentious issue but like you say it will otherwise end up in landfill.
