Scribbles Dress In The Heat

Our heatwave continues , time to bring out my cool cotton dresses .This Moyuru dress with its scribbles pattern fits the bill , cotton, loose and comfortable, what more could a girl want.

I teamed it with this bright head wrap, an old cotton scarf from my collection. I rather enjoy wearing them but know full well my technique needs work. Time to explore the op shops (thrift shops) for some more cotton scarves. The large black ear rings were an op shop find some time ago.

Later in the day we joined several MG Car Club friends for a drive in the country , finishing up at Carrick House , owned by Sally and Chester fellow car club members, for a BBQ and picnic in theit beautiful garden.
We were reminded on our drive one of the dangers of a hot, dry Australian Summer, bushfires. Even though the fires were a long way away the smoke haze was all around.
Fortunately, no property or lives were threatened as the fires were in a more remote area but today is another story with warnings for people to leave their property .
Our small city is quite a ways from these areas so we are not directly affected.

Yesterday John and I traveled to Hobart to see this little cutie and his parents. We enjoyed a lovely lunch together at this fruit farm cafe, in the Coal River Valley, home to several vineyards , cherry and apricot orchards.
I must admit also to a quick trip into the city of Hobart, our state capital. No time to actually shop but some looking and catching up with a friend.

Today’s outfit : Moyuru dress, Nicola Waite pants, Trippen Happy sandals, earrings, headscarf, Karen Walker large round sunnies.
