Welcoming the New Year in spots , always a great way to start for me as they always make me smile.
Apologies for being missing in action lately , a combination of Christmas , family commitments , some unexpected work and an untimely chest infection meant blogging had to take a back seat for a short time.
A New Year is always a time to re-assess your focus and there is nothing like a minor illness to bring health and fitness to the fore. I am not one for New Year resolutions as such , experience tells me mine are lucky to make it to the end of January, but rather focus on gradual long lasting improvements.
Another focus for this year is to continue to play with style and only purchase items I truly love and know will be with me for many years to come. This unusual coloured spot linen jacket (it is neither grey or taupe, somewhere in between) from Australian designers Bec and Bridge and Aussie made too that I found at a local store just before Christmas fills all my criteria .
I also plan to continue to find recycled treasures whenever I can , unfortunately our small town is a bit limited on that score so my eyes are always open for a treasure when I travel.
Black frilled wide leg silk pants from Maude Dainty, another Aussie small scale designer , a black cami from Paula Ryan , taupe and black Paco Herero mules that have had many Summers and a black boater complete today’s outfit.
Joining Judith at Style Crone for Hat Attack, Patti for Visible Monday, Jess for Turning Heads Tuesday and Nancy for Fashion Friday.
Marvelous look, Jill, and I agree completely with your approach to NY resolutions (although I find the flurry of ads for exercise gear hilarious!). Thanks for linking, and I'm glad you're feeling better, xo-Pattihttp://notdeadyetstyle.com
Thanks so much Patti, always my pleasure to join Visible Monday.I know what you mean about all those ads for exercise gear, the same here.
Happy New Year, Jill! I am so sorry to hear you were unwell, my dear. You've been missed, and I am happy to see you here looking as gorgeous and stylish as always! Love the detail of your pants and polka dots of your jacket, so playful! The word "intentions" comes up a lot in regards to New Year lately, I noticed, at least in my universe. Intentions vs. resolutions. It's a new start, yet it's all a part of the same path we're on, so I agree about gradual long lasting improvements, so wise!Lots of love!
Thank you dear Natalia that is so kind of you. As far as the outfit I knew I would wear both pieces in so many ways. May our new intentions continue.Happy New Year . xx
Happy new year Jill!
Thank you Nancy and to you.
Jill,I hope you are feeling better now.. nothing like being sick! I am a big fan of the accessories you wear, as the uniqueness is fabulous.
