Today’s outfit is a combination of old favourite pieces and a couple of special recycled finds.
The setting for the photos is a tucked away corner of our City Park , that has made several appearances over the years.
I spied this short sleeve linen jacket with its pink and white daisies at The Vintage Red Fox several months ago and knew it would be perfect come Summer. The label inside says Creation a la mode de Paris and includes a poodle- is it from Paris- no idea and it really doesn’t matter- I love it. The jacket is a fully lined , has glorious edging and the workmanship speaks of another era- possibly 1950’s.
I have paired the jacket with my faithful and so versatile Moyuru skirt- I so enjoy the pairing of vintage and newer pieces.
Pink is a colour I rarely wear although I love it on others , so when I found this cyclamen pink Charles Jourdan , made in France, bag many moons ago at a local recycle store I did question my decision to make it mine. I loved the shape, the quality and the colour and it pairs beautifully with black as these fingerless lace gloves show. The pearl edge sunnies complete the picture.
My love of collecting accessories continues to grow and I have found some wonderful pieces , some for just a few dollars , some a little more but as they add joy to my life this passion will continue, we all need a hobby don’t we.
My statement hat comes with a story – I found it in Paris in June 2016 at Chercheminippes, a Paris institution in the consignment clothing and accessories world. The hat is by renowned milliner Marie Mercie. I had visited her amazing hat shop at Rue St. Sulphice and admired so many hats but as this was the end of our travels I just couldn’t afford to buy one so imagine my joy when I stumbled upon this that very afternoon for just a few Euros. We were leaving Paris in a couple of days to fly home to Australia so the search was on to find a hat box , not an easy task we found. On our last day of sightseeing tucked away in a covered passage in a shop selling mainly jewellery a suitable hat box was found to transport my treasure home .

You look an absolute picture, Jill! That hat is wonderful and I'm drooling over your jacket and the shape of that exquisite skirt. How fabulous to have bought that hat in Paris. I bet the hunt for a suitable box was fun. Shopping secondhand is such a brilliant hobby – at least we have something to show for our money unlike frittering it away on gambling, drinking or fancy food. xxx
Thanks so much Vix. Totally agree that secondhand shopping is a brilliant hobby and often so rewarding. The hat will always be a reminder of that day in Paris
Just gorgeous, and i love how you've incorporated pink touches! And the hat – what a beauty. Thanks for linking up, xo-Pattihttp://notdeadyetstyle.com

I had to include this one , I was laughing because John had just been sprinkled on by the park watering system, the look on his face.
Wow! That's my kind of hat! You look amazing as usual. I've always loved those skirts of yours, so this time I went searching for a website that might sell something similar in the UK. And I found one! It's on my laptop as a bookmark and I'm waiting for the January sales!!! Many thanks for your inspirational way of wearing clothes x
Oh yes I can see you in this hat Penny- we do both love our hats. I do hope you find your skirt in the January sales, as you can tell by the amount of times it has appeared on the blog it is a favourite and so versatile.Thank you fo your kind comments.
The hat looks great, what a bargain! And pink, that’s so cute and summery (standing here ankle deep in snow, envious…)
Thank you Tiina, I must admit to being so pleased I made the effort to bring this hat home. Pink does say Summer – sorry Tiina- its been rather warm here.

Thank you Jess I always am so pleased to link up, glad you liked my little jacket and the hat.
Oh my! I love the shades of pink with your trademark black, it looks fabulous! Those fingerless lace gloves take me back to the 80's and that hat is a work of art! Although I love the Winter, after being snowed in for two days I'm appreciating your Summer photographs!
Many thanks Claire, the pink is a change for me but I rather like it. So true about the 80s vibe in the lace gloves .I am a fan of Winter too but ours is never as severe, glad to provide a respite with the Summer shots.
