Dior and I and My Friends

Sharing the exquisite beauty of Dior -70 years of Haute Couture exhibition with my friends Elizabeth and Silvana in Melbourne recently. This is at the entrance to the exhibition and showcases the Bar, afternoon ensemble from 1947.

The stunning floor in the foyer of the National Gallery of Victoria was painted by Michael Lin in collaboration with several local artists.
My outfit for the day included the Sarah Paccini skirt , a seqinned black cami and a vintage silk oriental embroidered jacket. I added black patent leather wedges , a vintage bag, black beads and a little hat from local milliner Susan Macarthur.
We also caught up with Elma, in purple ,who is a Melbourne based instagrammar , and these three gorgeous young ladies who graciously joined us for a photo.

The first Christian Dior haute couture collection was shown in Paris in 1947.The exhibition consists of more than 140 garments ranging from 1947 New Look to examples from the latest collection by Maria Grazia Churi. The House of Dior brings to life the rich history of the fashion house and its designers , Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferre, John Galliano , Raf Simmons and Maria Graza Chiuri.  Below in no particular order is just a few of these truly magnificent garments and some exquisite millinery.

I am so glad you enjoyed my Dior pictures Tina , I had so many to choose from it was quite a challenge limiting them. We all enjoyed choosing our outfits for the day and everyone's style and personality shines through.

Gosh Jill, you look stunning (your skirt as ever is ace) and together with your friends you're all rather wonderfully dramatically steampunk. And as for the Dior each pic shows something exquisitely wonderful – can't say which I like best but that red coat…… It could be worn out and about,no problem. Want one!!

Thank you Penny , the wedding skirt is definately earning its keep and was perfect with the jacket. The Dior was wonderful and each designer so totally different. I totally agree the red coat was a winner.
