Today’s post is a trip down memory lane for me , a visit to the town of Evandale where I attended
Primary School so many moons ago. The town has embraced its history in recent times and now attracts many tourists . It is home to the National Penny Farthing Championships and attracts riders
from all around the world.
Sitting outside the Ingleside Bakery , in my school days this was the local hall and the scene of many
Speech Nights and School Concerts ,no doubt complete with daggy costumes and off key singing .
The main street with its beautifully restored buildings and homes on a peaceful Winter Monday morning. The shop above was the place to go for sweets and milkshakes and I was thrilled to see the inside lovingly restored.
For my trip down memory lane I chose a new cream jacket from Moyuru which I teamed with a black skirt , also by Moyuru , black leather gloves and black patent leather shoes.
This little black vintage hat is a new purchase from a local bric-a-brac store. The lady who owns the store is an avid collector and is now selling some of the hats she bought over many years simply because she loved them but never wore them. I am now the proud owner of a few hats from her collection and will most definitely love and wear them.

What a lovely trip down memory lane! And so positive, too. I mean, often when you go back to what used to be 'home', everything seems so small, or totally changed. I guess that's the difference between a child's perspective and how we see things as an adult. And such a cool outfit, too. That jacket is really pretty.
Thank you so much Tiina , I know exactly what you mean , our memories and reality are often rather different. This town has had a positive turn around over the last few years.
So wonderful and nostalgic. And you look smashing as ever in youir chic neutrals. Love the hat! xoxhttp://notdeadyetstyle.com
Thank you so much Patti , glad you enjoyed my trip down memory. You know me I love my neutrals. Thank you for hosting Visible Monday.
What a pretty place to grow up. No wonder you have such nice sensibilities!
Connie, thank you that is so kind of you.
I didn't know we had a National Penny Farthing Championships! Thank you for informing me, Jill. It sounds like a lot of fun in this beautiful little town, just charming. Your new cream jacket is very glam but I imagine will also be very useful, I love its creative angles and soft rolls of collars. Your lippy plays beautifully with your whole outfit, including the cheeky little hat, love it. xx
The Penny Farthing Championships are held in February and really are fun with many dressing up for the occasion.Thank you Elizabeth for your always kind support.
Jill, you look stunning in this outfit! The new jacket looks perfect with your pants, and I adore your new vintage hat! How wonderful that your hometown restores old buildings and not tear them down (unfortunately, happens too often here). I enjoyed your trip!Lots of love!
Thank you dear Natalia , I know both the jacket and little hat will have many outings for years to come. The same has happened here and many of our old buildings are no more, this makes the restorations in this town so special.
How fun is that/ Seeing your hometown and the memories… I just told my hubby I would love to see the first house I grew up in.. Beautiful look as I love your taste in jackets, the winter white so classic! Great vintage hat as well. Have a great week!jess xxhttps://www.elegantlydressedandstylish.com
Thanks so much Jess, it was rather fun going back in time and reliving those memories. Glad you liked the new addition to my jacket collection, I know we share a love of a good jacket.
Love your new coat! And that hat looks perfect on you!
Thankyou Laurie for your generous support.
It's nice to follow you in the streets you used to cross years ago and it is nice that the shop was restored. There is something infinitely sad in visiting places rich of memories and realise that they are now badly maintained…Beautiful jacket. Black and white is always a perfect combination!
I totally agree Dan is is very sad when the places in our memory are not restored and maintained.I was so pleased this town has been restored.Glad you liked my cream and black.
