Winter Solstice in Purple

To celebrate the Winter Solstice I donned my Ted Baker purple wool peplum jacket and black leather skirt and headed to the skate park at Royal Park to check out the latest street art or graffiti , depending on your point of view.

Not quite sure about this one but the pink and black worked well against the purple and it is so much better than the dull grey concrete block wall than it is painted on.
Life is fairly quiet here at present , plenty of time to read , potter and plan future projects.

The jacket has a colourful, silky lining – I do like a garment that is as good on the inside as the outside.

This feathery, velvet hat is one I purchased at a small village in Portugal on my travels last year. The
joy of wearable souvenirs, memories at every wear.

Winter and boots the perfect match – I have had these suede and fur Aquatalia booties for several Winter’s and they remain favourites.

That graffiti wall is a great backdrop for this outfit. The purple peplum jacket is gorgeous. Love the hat too. Is it vintage? A very chic finishing touch to your stylish winter ensemble.Theresa

The newly painted graffiti wall was a gift and paired so well with my purple peplum jacket. I found the hat last year in Portugal , it is new but does have a vintage vibe. Thank you so much for your kind comments.

Gorgeous as always, Jill! My aunt (a skillful dressmaker) used to say that a garment has to be even more beautiful on the inside – and your jacket is definitely beautiful on both sides! I love a good graffiti, it really can be art! Gorgeous booties! I also have a couple of pairs by Aquatalia, they are very comfortable and great quality!Enjoy your quiet time!

Totally agree with your aunt but sadly those sort of details are scarcely seen , I think that attention to detail drew me to this jacket.I wish our town council held the view about street art, they are forever painting it over a boring grey.Thank you dear Natalia , hope you are enjoying your Summer.

Absolutely adore black and purple! You are spot on with the street art background too, it really shows your outfit. Love all your little attention to detail bits as well, those boots with furry trim are gorgeous and the spotty tights!

Thank you so much Claire , the purple brightened up a cool Winter day. The street art is a new one and I was pleased with how it offset the purple.

Purple colour fits you nicely plus the jacket makes a very nice silhouette. The little black hat is a lovely touch of personality! Very nice how the purple graffiti celebrates the outfit…

Thank you so much Dan , The shape of this jacket is what really drew me to it originally. I am rather fond of this little hat and it takes me back to Portugual every time I wear it.

Black is fabulous, isn't it? It can be "hung" many ways. It absolutely becomes full of life and colour with your vivid purple (I LOVE purple), Jill. Together with your excellent choice of background and accessories, this is a wonderful, warm winter post. xx
