Today’s photo shoot took place in our City Park, an important part of our small city since it
was established in the 1820’s. The cast iron fountain behind me was commissioned to celebrate
Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897.
The building behind me houses Japanese Macaque monkeys a gift to our city from our Sister City,
Ikeda, Japan. The monkey’s antics always enjoyed by both little and big people.
I have embarked on a personal styling challenge . My aim is wear a different outfit every day , I can
repeat items just not together. The reason for my challenge is that since not working on a regular basis I find myself just wearing the same things on rotation unless I am going out and about.
Time for a change of thinking and playing again with my clothes on a daily basis.
Today’s outfit a reflection of my challenge , the coral coat was purchased a few years ago for my
nephew’s wedding but is now worn more casually with my grey and cream cotton Moyuru cotton pants , a white tank top and a black vest from Sarah Paccini.
Also time to play with shoes , these are by Fly London , made in Portugal that I purchased last May
in Lisbon , Portugal. Every wear brings happy memories of a wonderful few days in that glorious city. I so hope both the shoes and I can return someday. Cream and black necklace and bangles and sunnies complete the look.

Sometimes I start wearing same outfit again and again too, when I am a bit lazy or in a hurry. It is so much easier just to throw on a familiar combination then to think of a new one 🙂 Nice coral coat! And those shoes are adorable!
Thank you for your comments Olga , I find coral a cheery colour to wear. So glad I bought these shoes last year as they are comfortable as well as a memory of Lisbon.
I like your challenge, and as a fellow retiree, I think I'll give it a go. You look marvelous! xo-Pattihttp://notdeadyetstyle.com
As fellow retirees we both understand the challenges that come with change , good luck with your own challenge. Many thanks Patti.
That's a good challenge, and makes dressing fun again, too. I find that when I work a lot (with lots of early mornings to boot), I have less energy or interest to think about outfits and I just reach for the same items every day. Maybe it's winter…That coral coat looks really good on you, it's a great colour for you. And the shoes are beautiful!
I understand how when your schedule is so busy it is sometimes easier to just wear the same items on repeat. The reverse has applied to me , so time to ramp it up a bit. I am fond of the warmth of coral and know I should have more in my wardrobe.Thank you for your always generous comments.
I am loving this outfit! I especially love the coral coat with the black and white. Just perfect! 🙂
Thank you Laurie, you know me I love my brights with black and white.
What amazing shoes! The formal coat looks so lovely worn casually and again you have accessorised so beautifully. The park as a backdrop is delightful, I'm almost wishing for Spring here!
Thank you Claire , by wearing the coat more casually it will at least be worn , no point waiting for formal occasions they rarely happen. The park is always a joy, regardless of the season. Hope your weather has been kind.
I'm joining you in your challenge. I've put a portable rack in my bedroom and bring out different combos every day. It's been fun and a major boost in spirits (that take a nose dive almost daily after reading the news.)
Oh Marea, I can only imagine how you must be feeling as each day seems to reveal another challenge to your spirits.Enjoy the challenge at least it provides a small reprieve and challenges our creativity.
I think your challenge sounds like a great idea. I know what you mean about wearing the same things time after time. I do the same in the winter when I'm not at show at work. The colour of your jacket is really flattering and suits your skin and hair tone very well. I love, love, love those beaded sandals – beading is a favourite with me! As usual, you've put a look together that looks totally effortless, yet is totally cool.Wishing you a great week xAnna
Thank you Anna, I will keep you posted on how my challenge pans out, I am looking forward to stirring my creative self on a daily basis. I am so pleased with the shoes ,they tick all the boxes for me, and are so comfortable as well as reminding me of the joys of Lisbon.
Jill, I love learning the history of places and how interesting. Love the bright coral color on you and those beaded sandals are so unique and pretty. I know the challenge, as I am at home often. Have a wonderful weekend! Thanks for linking with Turning heads tuesdayjess xxwww.elegantlydressedaandstylish.com
Thank you Jess , pleased to know you liked my little bit of history . Coral is always such a bright and cheery colour. I will let you know how the challenge pans out.
Many different combinations are possible with the same clothes and accessories. I do the same in real life. The coat is very nice on you and coral-colour is great for Summer! I always like to know about your ( very far away ) part of the world…
I so agree Dan that mixing our clothes and accesories makes it interesting.Glad you enjoyed seeing a peak at my part of the world.
What a gorgeous coat – I love the color as well as shape, and you wear it beautifully in a casual manner. Your shoes make me happy, and I bet they are comfortable too! It's always a pleasure to discover your town, what a wonderful park, with history and cultural ties. Tacoma has several sister cities, and one of them is from Japan as well – Kitakyushu, Japan.I don't dress up when I'm at home, but sometimes I wear dresses that are comfy and still stylish. But I like your idea to play with clothes on a daily basis – many more new combinations, and more inspiration too! Have fun playing!!!Warmest hugs!
Thank you Natalia , this coat is always a joy to wear and I am so pleased with the sandals , and they remind me of Lisbon at every wear.My at home dressing is rather casual , I do like your idea of dresses for a change.
You look fabulous in coral! Thanks for a glimpse of your beautiful gardens. xx
Thank you Elizabeth , these gardens are a joy all year round.
