Spring is in the air in my part of the world and my garden is clothed in all its Spring glory. One of the highlights is this glorious magnolia tree that I planted more than 25 years ago that bursts forth with its
bountiful blooms that fill the air with its subtle fragrance.
The joy of watching my garden come to life again after its Winter dormancy never fades.
The sun was shining and the temperatures were a little milder so I donned my coral shirt coat from Australian
label Ark over some black layers , added a necklace that was a gift from my children many moons ago , some over sized sunnies from Karen Walker and a grey hat that I purchased from a milliner in Paris and I was good to go and enjoy the delights of Spring.
One of Spring’s traditions for my sister and I is to enjoy the flower show , hosted by our local Horticultural Society. Our late mother was a life member of the Society and we are both keen gardeners so this is a
tradition we plan to continue for many years to come.
These are just a small sample of some of the glorious blooms on show.
On my recent trip to Queensland for my wedding anniversary I was fortunate to meet up with Elizabeth,
who I had connected with through Instagram.Elizabeth lives in Brisbane and we spent a wonderful few
hours together getting to know one another through shared stories, common interests , food and a love of
art . Elizabeth introduced me to GOMA, (Gallery of Modern Art), where these photos were taken in front
of the huge and magnificent , Still Life Coconut and Other Things by Shirana Shahbazi and Sirous Shaghagi.
We also share the same birthday , some connections are just meant to be.
Elizabeth is not only extremely clever in her ability to create such visual joy with her outfits and accessories,
she is a talented seamstress and created the outfit she is wearing the day before our meeting.
Her Instagram is timeless_styling , well worth a visit , always so inspiring.
Thank you Elizabeth , I am sure will meet again .

Thank you Patti , the magnolia is always a sight in full bloom. Elizabeth fits in so well with Visible Monday.
I love your outfit! So cool, the jewellery is amazing, and you look fab wearing colour!
Thank you so much Tiina, I enjoy wearing some colour and plan to continue so into Spring and Summer.
I'm not sure which is prettier, the flowers or your coat. 🙂
Many thanks Laurie, the flowers do put on a show.
I saw you two on Instagram. Quite the stylish pair. I love love love your beautiful clothes, Jill. I often wish that the internet was so advanced that I could actually reach in and touch the fabrics. You have so many wonderful and well-thought out special special things. Heck, if it were that advanced perhaps we could then share a cup of virtual tea.!!!
Sharing a cup of tea with you sounds great Connie, maybe one day, either real or virtual. So glad you enjoy my eclectic clothing choices, I know they are not to everyones taste but they are me.I so enjoyed sharing time with Elizabeth, the joy of our IG and blogging world.
What a lovely new friend. Her outfit is gorgeous; as is yours. I, too, love it when Spring blooms in your world and you show photos of that magnolia tree. Hope it becomes an annual unveiling.
Thank you Marea, Elizabeth was lovely to meet and share our interests and yes her outfits are always something special.Glad you like to see our Spring, I will make it an annual event.
What a delightful post! The magnolia in your garden is amazing, and you look beautiful in this Spring color, Jill! This necklace is one of my favorite of yours. Elizabeth looks familiar, and I am not on Instagram – but perhaps I've seen her artistic outfits on someone's blog earlier. Love her outfit, it's so striking! How wonderful that you two met – you seem like kindred spirits!
Natalia you are right, you have seen Elizabeth before, Sylvia featured her on 40plus style a while ago.We most definately are kindred spirits. Spring blooms are always a good excuse for pretty colour.
Your garden is lovely, Jill. We're nearly twins in our matching coral/gray print tops! 🙂
Thanks so much Lisa, Spring and early Summer are the best times for my garden.Coral and grey are so good together aren,t they.
Stunning flowers, I love your Magnolia tree! This pink floral jacket is so lovely on you Jill, I love the color on you. The sunglasses a perfect shape for your face, and so fun! You look great! Sounds so nice of a time you had with your friend too. Thanks for linking up with turning heads tuesdayjess xxwww.elegantlydressedandstylish.com
Always my pleasure to join with Turning Heads Tuesday. The magnolia never fails to put on a show , so I felt a colour was the only way to do do it justice, so glad you liked it Jess.
Looking very Spring, Jill! There's just something about flowers, isn't there and when they come into bloom it's heavenly. Your magnolia is beautiful, and I love your pink, very joyful and full of Spring. What a lovely story of you and Elizabeth. This is such a positive aspect of social media, isn't it? Being able to connect with and communicate with – and then, maybe meet in person, friends we get to know in cyberspace. Wishing you lots more flowers and joyful time in your garden. xx
Thank you Elizabeth, the Spring flowers are always such a joy and fill the garden with colour and fragrance.I must agree with you on the positive aspect of social media , the connecting of like minded souls.
Ooohh, how smashing do you look in this rich, cheerful shade of cerise pink? Immensely so, that's how much! 🙂 Lovely, festive springtime outfit, dear Jill.Three big cheers for blogger/IG friend meetups! I was very fortunate to meetup with four such folks (one visit each, not a group get-together) while in Edmonton recently, only one of whom I'd had the pleasure of meeting in person before. Definitely some of the highlights of that trip for me. Many hugs & happy weekend wishes,♥ Jessica
Meetups with like minded blogger/instagram friends really is a joy and one I hope to continue whenever the opportunity presents itself, you never know maybe one day in Canada, a girl can dream. Glad you liked the colour , I must admit to a fondness there too.
This is the place for a beautiful wedding. The ceremony was held in the dining hall, which commands a breath-taking view of the city. I only wish I appreciated wedding venues NYC more when I was there. Oh well. You live and learn.
