Back in my old favourite black today by the river side on a drizzly grey day.As much as I enjoy wearing colour , black and I will always remain firm friends.
I enjoy wearing a mix of textures and nothing in my opinion showcases them better than black.
I came upon this quote by Coco Chanel that resounds strongly with me.
” Women think of all colours except the absence of colour. I have said that black has it all .White
too .Their beauty is absolute .It is the perfect harmony”.
Today’s black on black outfit consists of a black ruffled jacket by Harry Who , a now defunct Australian
company, purchased from a local recycled store paired with my black Moyuru skirt and black patent leather
wedges from Sonya Rykel that have been favourites for many Summers.
Today was even cool enough to bring out my studded black gloves , as much as I enjoy our Summers I
do miss my gloves.
I also wore a new hat from a local Tasmanian milliner Susan McArthur , who designs the most wonderful
creations, I feel this little hat may be the first of many.I simply adore its shape and the added touch of the
gem trim and the whimsy of the tassel.

Wow! That's a stunning look. It's fabulous on you!
Susan thank you ever so much for dropping by and for your kind words.
Thank you for the hat closeup – that's an amazing piece. You do looking stunning always in your black outfits. I totally understand the love. And the studded gloves, of course they must be worn as frequently as possible.
My pleasure Melanie, it really did deserve to be seen in more detail.Black and I really are old friends and I do always feel right in black. Yesterday was glove weather, today is warm again, so I will be patient a little longer.
It showcases the studs so beautifully!I saw yesterday you were down to 11 deg. Amazing!xo Jazzy Jack
Well spotted, cool yesterday but back to 26C today, typical Tassie weather. Not complaining plenty of time ahead for cool weather gear.Thank you so much.
I've been looking through your blog at all the shots of you in your moyuru pants! Love them! You really have the posing down to a science!
Thank you so much Susan, glad you like my collection of Moyuru pants.I discovered them a couple of years ago and admit I am still smitten as they are so comfortable to wear and are just me really. Thanks so much for visiting .
Everyone should own something black! To be honest I only have got a few pieces in that colour since I think it doesn't suit me. On the contrary, it is lovely on you, and black goes perfect with the tanned tone of your skin! The shape of your outfit is so unique and nice !p.s.what a cute hat…I love it!
Thank you so much Dan, as you know black and I are good companions, maybe because as you said it really does suit my skin tone. I do really love this little hat and more so as it was made locally.
Absolutely stunning, Jill! I think it is one of your finest outfits (and you have many fine ones!).
Natalia, you are always so kind and generous with your comments.Hope Spring is being kind in your area.
I do love all the textures and shapes you manage to find in your clothing, it makes for such an interesting outfit! Your hair colour is so lovely too, really suits you!
So kind of you to notice the hair, it is now almost back to its own colour now with grey stripes. I must admit I am always drawn to interesting shapes and textures. Thank you for dropping by.
Oh that hat is adorable! What a unique piece. Just made me smile. And I love the texture of the ruffles too.http://petitesilvervixen.blogspot.co.uk/
Thank you so much , I know this little hat is one I will always enjoy wearing as it will have that effect on me too.
Amazing hat-it looks so much fun to wear.
Thank you so much Teresa , it is a fun little hat to wear and I am so plaesed it is from a local milliner.
Your black is never boring, Jill! Look at that jacket – all those ruffles! And the hat – what a unique and stunning thing!
Oh Olga , you are so kind , I must admit it was the ruffles on the jacket that called my name when I saw it and knew it must come home. Much the same with the hat, love at first sight.
Every detail is astounding here. I am a glove lover and those that you feature today are stunners. As is your chapeau. Thank you so much for sharing with Hat Attack!

Very aprapo for the topic of texture I brought up. I love the hat, so unique and perfect with the look. The texture of the jacket is beautiufl as well. Thanks for linking up with Turning Heads Tuesdayjess xxwww.elegantlydressedandstylish.com
We were both on the same wavelength this week Jess.Like you I am a great lover of mixing different textures. Thank you for hosting Turning Heads Tuesday.
The event could not have gone more smoothly, and from my perspective, less stressfully. I was able to relax, let my hair down, and totally enjoy the party, and felt totally pampered and cared for by their manager. The food at Los Angeles wedding venues was excellent, and the floral were gorgeous and reasonably priced.
