Orange and Dream Vintage

Today to view an antique and collectable auction I decided to this orange and white spot shirt
that I purchased last year at a local recycled clothing store. It is from Christian Lacroix and is
from the 1980’s , with its puffy sleeves and oversize gold buttons. It is made from the softest
pure cotton and I really love this shirt even though the buttons don’t quite meet.I put off wearing
this shirt for that reason but have now decided it really doesn’t matter.

A glimpse of some of the selection of antiques and collectibles on offer at tomorrows auction.

Forget the furniture , I made a bee line to these glorious feather and felt vintage hats from the 1930’s and
1940’s. Aren’t they amazing , I really love the colourful one in the middle.

More amazing hats, I will keep my fingers crossed but have a feeling they will fetch prices way above
my budget. I don’t really mind it was such a treat to view such exquisite millinery , a rare thing here.

A collection of vintage evening bags . I always wonder who owned them and where they were from.
you can only imagine the places and events they have attended.

The back detail on the shirt and a closet look at those full sleeves, aren’t they wonderful.

Teamed the shirt with black Moyuru pants/skirt , my orange bag and orange shoes and necklace.

Oh, Jill, good luck on purchasing one of those incredible hats. And I'm glad you kept the Lacroix blouse. I've learned that when you come across an exceptionally beautiful piece of clothing (and can afford it) buy it or regrets happen. My shopping days are over, but I have special items in my closet that I've only worn once or twice. It's time to bring them out!

As expected the hats sold for way over my budget, I just hope they go to good homes. I am glad I kept the blouse even though it is a little snug as I love the style and colour. We do learn in time to buy an affordable item when we see it but like you I really only buy new things that really speak to me. I do hope you bring those pieces out and wear them.

That orange dotty blouse is just terrific! I'm so happy you've kept it. I think that the shop should just GIVE you one of those wonderful hats simply because you bring such style to the area. Wonderful wonderful ensemble.

You are so right , I can see this one on Sacramento. I know I wear a lot of black or black and white but if I do wear colour, it always seems to be a strong colour like red or orange. xx

Orange is one of my most favorite colors – and you look gorgeous in this amazing blouse, Jill! You can change the buttons if you don't like them – why not? The shape is fantastic, the sleeves are just incredible. So happy that you keep this brilliant find! The hats are really beautiful, and each tells a story or two… hope you'll find a similar colorful hat for an affordable price some day!

Natalia, you and orange are indeed a great pairing. It is a fun and vibrant colour to wear , I think the orange and cream spots as well as its sleeves and shape drew me to this shirt . The hats were nor meant to mine , selling way above my budget as I expected but in time one will come my way.

Going to an auction is very interesting and sometimes, if you are lucky, you can get little trasures! Those hats are beautiful! Isn't it surprising to see how carefully they were made?Your shirt is great! And those big puffy sleeves make it special. The colour suits you perfectly…

Be still my vintage loving heart! What incredible mid-century accessories. The wide brimmed cream hat in particular turned my knees to jelly. What a fabulous shop to spend some time in!This outfit is a riot of fun, dear Jill. So vibrant, cheerful and pretty – plus, it stars Tony's favourite colour (orange), so I can't help but adore it all the more.Oodles of hugs & happy tail end of January wishes,♥ Jessica

(Auction – sorry; the tiny number of vintage related auctions around these parts are held in antique shops, so I'm just used to thinking of the two together. I fully realize this one might not be held in such a locale.)♥ Jessica
