Today’s Spring sunshine called for colour, so I chose to wear burnt orange , a colour more often
evoking Autumn (or Fall depending where you hail from) but who cares I am rather fond of this colour
and wear it regardless of season.
I was away for a few days and came home to my magnolia tree in full bloom . I planted this tree more than
twenty five years ago and every year it rewards me with its magnificent blooms that perfume the whole garden. Spring beauty is often short lived but so wonderful in all its exhuberance.
Raffy just had to make a guest appearance, anyway I have always thought orange and white make a
good combination.
Wearing a vintage 1950’s hat , that I purchased at an antique store in the small town of Daylesford. The hat
is made from wool felt and feathers in the most gorgeous red brown with touches of red, black, blue , white
and green. I must admit it was love at first sight and new it just had to come home with me.
I love how the change of seasons sparks a renewal of thought and actions , for me along with some other
ideas I have decided to inject some colour into my normal monochrome wardrobe. We will see how things evolve as time rolls on.
Today I am wearing a coat from Ark( seen on several different occasions) , black pants, a silk wrap ( from Paris , a kind gift from a friend ) , orange and mustard bangles and my new hat.
Joining Catherine at Not Dressed as Lamb for I will wear what I like , this weeks theme is colour
and Jess for Turning Heads Tuesday.
I just love burnt orange, what a fab outfit and another gorgeous stylish hat!

I think it looks fabulous, but then I'm in an autumn mood right now! And the feathered hat is so perfect 🙂
This colour to me is perfect in either Autumn or Spring.Enjoy those wonderful Autumn colours, Laurie.
Very bold and beautiful, Jill. Absolutely adore that hat! I've been eyeing a few feathered beauties in some vintage stores, as well, but I'm just not sure I will wear them. You have given me courage! Think I'll go take a second look.
Thank you so much Marea. I do hope one of those feathered beauties comes home with you, I can just picture you wearing them, they are a thing of beauty.
Splendid look, Jill! I'm with you – burned orange is such a great color. And yes, orange with white is so beautiful (especially if your white is Raffy!). Your hat is a beauty! I find myself wanting and getting more hats, though nothing vintage yet. Happy new season, my dear!
Thank you dear Natalia, we are both a fan of burnt orange. The hat was love at first sight , it just had to come home. Enjoy your Autumn.
I love your move into colour Jill, following on from Purple Haze and Burnt Orange is another winner! I love the delicate pattern on the scarf and that hat is just so wonderful. How lovely to come back to your magnolia in full bloom. I love it when the magnolias are out. It's all too brief but my, they do put on a fabulous show.
Thank you so much, I am enjoying some colour right now. Magnolias are so beautiful , even though they are short lived.
I am not a fan of orange as it isn't nice on me but the burnt shade of your outfit is really beautiful!! And, yes, it does matches to white very well! Little Raffy can be proud of it … :-)Wonderful blooming around you …
Spring blooms are always so welcome after Winter. Orange is one of those tricky colours, it either works for you or not, for me it does. Thank you Dan , enjoy your week.
Magnificent ensemble, dear Jill! Orange is such a passionate, fun, cheerful hue! Light and dark varieties of it suit me best and I'm totally stoaked that we're heading to fall here again Canada – the season that suits orange best – and that I'll get to don plenty of it in the coming wees.Big hugs,♥ Jessica
