Purple Haze , a song by Jimi Hendrix , released in 1967, brings back memories from my teenage years.
The lyrics from the first verse reflect my thoughts at present.
Purple Haze all in my brain
Lately things don’t seem the same
Actin’ funny but don’t know why
Excuse me while I kiss the sky
These words were possibly written with some help from chemical substances , there are conflicting views
on this.
My Purple Haze is more of the re-invention kind , challenging myself to re-discover my creative side.
I am really not sure what form this will take but I feel ready to try a variety of things to see where my
passion lies. The plan is to try something new every day , sometimes a small thing , some days a challenge
on a much larger scale.
Purple is a colour that I admire on others but really didn’t wear myself . That was until I discovered this purple, peplum jacket last year. I love the style and fit and have fallen for its rich colour.
I have paired it with my black Moyuru pants, yellow and black spotty gloves and multi-strand faux pearls.
My purple veiled cocktail hat with its decorative pin , also reflects a change in my thinking. I always felt somewhat unsure about the veil and wore this hat with the veil tucked inside , silly me I love the way it was designed to be worn.
This friendly local came to visit us as we were taking photos, so I just had to include this one.

Loving the purple! I really like wearing it in the fall, but it's beautiful any time of year:)
Thank you so much Laurie , glad you liked the purple. Look forward to your Fall looks.
I love how you brought in the song Purple Haze to go with your purple haze outfit. The two together are quite startling and wonderful! I've always been stand-offish with purple too but you wear it so well. I love that you wear the hat veil down – as a child I thought these hats were the MOST romantic thing on earth. Still do. Beautiful look.
Thanks Melanie, so pleased you enjoyed the Purple Haze connection. I know what you mean about purple, sometimes a hard colour to wear. I love the mystery that a veil evokes.
Like Melanie, I think veiled hats are so romantic and this is a fabulous look on you, so carry on wearing it as it was meant to be worn with the veil down. Think Bette Davis and you're there! The richness of the purple jacket is fabulous on you. And great to see those gloves again. Small challenges can often have the most surprising impact so happy daily challenges to you!
I must remember to think Bette Davis , thanks so much for the thought and for your always kind words.
This shade of purple looks fantastic on you, rich and dark, yet very kind to your complexion. I often wear purple when I feel the need to wear 'darker' colours, as a substitute to black (which really does no favours for me…).
You have made a good point about the shade of purple , this is the key to wearing it. Unlike you I can wear black and have been wary of the jewel tones. Thanks for your comments Tiina.
This shade of purple is so vibrant, rich and so royal. And indeed you look like a royalty in it! The hat is very elegant and I like it worn with the veil.
Thank you Olga , I had never really thought of it as regal but I guess there is that link . I will definately wear the veil as is more often.

Thank you my dear for your Spring wishes. Your creative endeavours are always inspiring.
Purple looks wonderful on you! And the hat is a stunner! I agree that the veil looks perfect worn as it was designed. Challenging yourself in the way that you describe will bring new adventures into your life, I'm sure. I admire your resolve and intention. Purple Haze is a great place to start!
Thank you so much Judith, I was so pleased to share the veiled hat with Hat Attack. I am open to new challenges and look forward to whatever comes my way.

So kind Sacramento, we do share a love of jackets. XX
I love netted hats! I would be curious to hear about your creative endeavors. Will you be posting about them? I, also, want to be more creative. My interest lies in the area of fiction, poetry, etc. I especially like that you left the netting visible instead of the way you said you usually wear it. Very nice. Debbie @ ilovemylemonadelife.com
This hat will definately be one of many netted hats I am sure. I do hope to share my creative adventures as they come to fruition.

Black and purple is a stunning colour combo, and you look so glam wearing it!
Thank you so much , a bold combination for me but I was pleased with the result.
I love every article you're wearing here. Peplum jackets are fantastic, aren't they? I must work on finding hats with veils, too! Yours is stunning on you.
Thank you so very much Aya, I am a big fan of a peplum jacket. Hats with veils can be a bit hard to find but worth the hunt.
That bustle jacket is all sorts of posh.
Thank you Sheelagh , glad you liked it., pleased you dropped by.
You look so regal and glam in purple!Rebeccawww.redtagchiclosangeles.com

Megan , so glad you liked my purple . So glad you dropped by.
My first thoughts were of the poem "when I grow old I'm going to wear purple and learn to spit". Do you know it, it's wonderful and you look fabulous Lynn 🙂
I am not sure I do know that one but there is another in the same vein about daft hats and older ladies, think this is me.
