On a cold and blustery morning we ventured to this area , the local skate park, situated at the back of the flood levee , now partially covered with graffiti or street art depending on your point of view.
For many years the local council removed any artwork that appeared on this wall but in recent times their attitude has changed and the works continue to grow. I have no problem with this , an ugly concrete wall is slowly changing to become a vibrant reflection of youth culture.
Today was also a day for me that only my beloved black would do , a swing jacket with interesting detail at the neckline worn over a free fitting dress, both from Japanese label Moyuru , found recently in the Winter sales. A wool snow leopard print wrap was added for warmth , as well as black leather gloves and my black hat recently purchased on my Melbourne trip. I am also wearing black patent leather and suede boots .

Beautiful photographs, Jill! Your black outfit looks even more striking over that brightly painted wall. Love the necklace and the leopard print wrap. Looking simply fantastic, Jill!
Thank you so much Olga. I have recently rediscovered the art work on this wall, it does photograph well.

I have been watching the weather in the other parts of the world, a heatwave almost everywhere, while parts of Australia have had the coldest Winter on record. Wonderful compliment dear Sacramento.
Miyake, lol.Blame the heat
I understand.
Loving the contrast between your outfit and the graffiti!
Thankyou Tiina, I was quite pleased with the result.
I love the entire outfit. The black on black is great and that hat is perfection.
Thank you so very much Lara for your kind comments.
I love your style! Such a fabulous and dramatic look.
Thank you for dropping by and for your kind words.
Love the different textures you used with your black on black theme. The wooden necklace. Leather gloves. Very sculptural cut of dress and jacket. Fashion truly is a form of art!
I agree Marea, fashion can truly be an art form, I enjoy expressing myself through my outfits.Thank you for your always welcome words.
Beautiful post! Have a great Wednesday.xoxo;STYLEFORMANKIND.COM / Facebook / Bloglovin
Thank you so much.
I'm in awe with this outfit, Jill! You are a true artist. I am with you on graffiti – it really is a reflection of a certain time and age group, or at least subculture. They do photograph wonderfully! I also have a few photos by a wall like this somewhere in my archives… A city where we lived before used to fight graffiti, they literally treated it like a war. I wonder whether they still do it… Have a wonderful week, my beautiful friend! xxx
Natalia , many thanks for your kind words, so glad you liked this one , it was fun putting it together.I think there is a bit of a shift in the way of thinking regarding graffiti and it is seen as an art form. I hope you enjoy your week , dear Natalia. xx
I love the colorful background of art with your black look, it was meant to be! Love all the details, with your necklace, scarf and gloves. I wish it was a bit cooler here.. way to hot!Thank you for linking up with Turning Heads Tuesdayjessxxwww.elegantlydressedandstylish.com
Thank you Jess, black and graffiti are often the perfect match. Hope your weather has cooled a bit, ours is still rather cold. Thank you so much for hosting Turning Heads Tuesday.
Back in black, (to quote a famous Aussie band) and looking glam as ever! Love the contrast of your outfit against the wall and those boots are wonderful. Fab necklace too, is it a Sobral piece?
Thank you so much , black and the colour on the wall seemed to be made for each other. I must admit not knowing Sobral , the necklace is from an Aussie maker.
You make it look so easy to look fabulous, Jill! You are my editorial avante-garde role model ;-)Aliciaspashionista.com
Alicia, you are always too kind, thank you.
The wall is also a very nice background for your photos! The Japanise style is very cool and reveals your modern personality… ( I wish I could meet you one day!!)p.s.great dark necklace as well, is it wood?
I was rather pleased how the wall photographed as a background. I am enjoying the Japanese style. The necklace is a mixture of different materials. I too would really love to meet you.
I think this wall does look good but I can understand why the government wants to paint it since they don't want everyone just spray painting any wall. I love the different textures of black in this outfit.Thank you for joining TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you Thursday. Alicewww.happinessatmidlife.com
