A Jacket by the River Side

Today was one of those magical Winter days , perfect for a stroll by the Tamar River, stopping for a few shots along the way.

Wearing a Lisa Ho jacket , that appears almost cream in these shots , but is actually a light beige colour. I have had this jacket for many Winters now but it is still a favourite of mine. Jackets are one clothing item that I have collected for many years and I must admit I have amassed quite a collection. I think most of us are drawn to a favourite item , be it dresses, coats, pants or shirts. What is yours?

Today , I had fun shopping my closet and pairing my Moyuru pants with the jacket , simply adding thick tights for some warmth.  I must admit to finding little joy clothes shopping in our local shops these days as one by one the small interesting shops are being replaced with chain stores, with stock all much the same.

Topping off the outfit with other items from my closet , a fluffy Persian lamb scarf , sunnies from Chanel in black and beige and a black hat with jewel toned buttons from Helen Kaminski.

I love your 1920's style cloche hat, so demure, and your jacket looks fab with the scarf! I'm also a jacket person, I collected so many in all colours for work, they are perfect for pairing up with a plain office skirt. Had to get rid of quite a few when I stopped working in the office, I still have about 14 though!

I've been studying your beautiful white winter jackets with great interest. Now that I'm living in a place where I can actually wear winter coats (although I'm in no big hurry), I will have to buy a couple this November. I would love to find a short white jacket like yours! So lovely!

I will look forward to seeing your jackets come your next Winter. As much as I really don't like the cold , I really love wearing coats and warm jackets, the upside I guess.

I know Tiina I really do have way too many jackets but in my defence they have been collected over many years.

Since I live some place where the winters are quite cold I like to have a variety of outerwear. You really have a great collection:)

The fact that we do for Australia have cool Winters somehow justifies my jacket and coat collection.

Nice jacket, Jill, and the lamb scarf is a small but distinctive piece that adds more glamour to the look. Pretty hat, too. I guess my favourite item is dress, I have plenty of them in my wardrobe and I love to wear dresses more than anything else.

I do love a well cut jacket and yours is lovely. But no one has mentioned your gloves – they look a natty pair, especially with the yellow bows!http://petitesilvervixen.blogspot.co.uk/

Me and jackets are old friends , like you I love a well cut jacket. Glad you noticed the gloves, a new addition this Winter, the bows sold them to me.

It's always a great idea to shop in our own closet. I love jackets but don't get much use out of them since it doesn't get too cold where I live. I have to remind myself to stop buying them. Love the scarf with this coat!Thank you for joining TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you next week. Have a great weekend!Alicewww.happpinessatmidlife.com

Love these sunny photos, Jill! You look beautiful, elegant, classy and whimsical in your jacket, pants and hat ensemble – with the addition of gloves. So feminine! I have a small collection of jackets too, but right now I'm fascinated with dresses mostly, and jumpsuits occasionally. It changes with me. 🙂 xxxx
