Winter Red

The first day of Winter , a good excuse to wear red a favourite of mine for bringing some cheer on those dreary days. This unusual vest has been in my closet for some time and has travelled several times to the
charity pile but always seems to get a reprive. Tell me what you think should it stay or go.

I always feel there is something beautiful about gardens in the Winter, their bare bones have a gentle flow after all the exuberance of colour over Spring and Summer. A good chance to make some changes and some much needed tidying up. Raffy just had to get into the act, a real scene stealer.

An exciting week in our house , my eldest son , Zac and his partner Sarah have announced their engagement
and my other son , Callum has secured a job with Ford after graduating as an engineer last year.

Pairing my red vest with black pants and wool jumper by Paula Ryan , black and white gloves and
a favourite black hat by Helen Kaminski.

Joining all the other hat wearing ladies and Judith , The Style Crone for Hat Attack
and Jess for Turning Heads Tuesday.

Stunning vest, definitely a keeper! It is a lovely shade of red, more on the cherry side which I prefer. Love the brooch too, very stylish as usual Jill! I love the winter silhouettes of nature, the skeletal trees and cold icy blue/lilac shades of a winter sky.

Thank you for your advice, I think the vest is a keeper, a touch of bright on a dull day. I agree about the contrasts of nature in Winter.

Yes, do keep it! I know I would. I really love this vest and the way you styled it – sooo beautiful, Jill! Lovely! Congratulations to your dear sons, and here is to new beginnings! One of the most favorite poets of mine, Joseph Brodsky, considered winter the time when you see the essence of things… I love the photo of you laughing! xxxxxxx

You look glam fierce in this red vest. KEEP IT. But only if you want to. Heh. I like the architecture of your outfit, always interesting. You certainly have a gift. And congratulations on raising your kids to be moving on in life so well. Well done. What to wear to the wedding now…?

Votes are in, it definately a keeper. Interesting comment about the architecture of the outfit, something I have recently become more aware of. A wedding some way off as they are travelling to your part of the world next month for a few weeks so early next year, it will be fun finding what to wear.
