Heading off for a MG Car Club run in this MG TD , that John has owned since the early 1970’s.
I have always struggled with the cold in an open topped car as the weather becomes cooler but all that has changed since I discovered this coat towards the end of last Winter. I discovered it at our local recycled clothing store, Return to Splendour, and bought it at a really good price as it was the end of a season.
Whenever I wear it, I feel like I am wrapped in a soft, snuggly blanket, simply perfect for a ride in a Vintage Car. The car and I were both made in the same year, I guess that makes me vintage too.

Some of the cars on the run parked outside a garage containing a very impressive collection of vintage cars, motor bikes and other car paraphenalia. No photos of the cars, etc. my camera and I took off to explore the beautiful gardens and have a closer peek at the house.

Now you can see why, the house known as Carrick House dates from 1840 and is quite magnificent , surrounded by beautiful gardens.

These photos are from a few weeks ago as my photographer ( my husband, John ) is interstate at present.
I am joining him in Sydney on Wednesday , which I am really looking forward to, spending time with John
and a city fix , my idea of a perfect few days. Nothing planned , we will just take it as it comes.

Joining Patti for Visible Monday and Jess for Turning Heads Tuesday.

In today's world vintage has a different meaning and value. Vintage is seeked, cherished, expensive, treasured 🙂 Looking at your coat, it reminds me that my MIL passed down to me one of her many shearling coats. It is way big for my frame and I'm not sure what to do with it. Bummer because it is so pretty!

Very elegant Jill! A wonderful find in that beautiful fur. Your husband really does love convertibles. A day in the city with a best friend sounds perfect to me. I'd love to see Australia some day.

The car and you were made for one another! You look, like Lisa said, like a marvelous character in a novel! Beautiful fur coat, so glad that you could find it at a good price, always a bonus. I also bought a (faux) fur coat at the end of Winter this year… the original price was $500, and I thought no way – even though I fell in love wit the design immediately. Imagine my excitement when the price dropped, a few months later, and with an additional discount, I had it for only $80! Now I just need a vintage car to go with it. :))))) You look truly glamorous, Jill, and your hats are always such a perfect accessory! xxxx

You are so right Dan , open cars can be either a joy or a misery depending on how warm I am. Glad you liked the cars and the house. Unfortunately my garden pictures did not turn out as well as I had hoped.
