Two very different passions,
a love of roses
and
also a love of shoes.
My roses are now
in full bloom
filling the air
with their
intoxicating scent.
Most of my roses
are heritage roses.
Not only do I love
their beauty and
perfume, the
history behind
each one is for
me fascinating.
Taking in the fragrance of one
of my favourite roses,
Souvenir de La Malmaison,
a bourban rose dating
back to 1842.
Today to enjoy the
roses I am wearing
a watermelon print
jacket from Ark.
Worn over a white top
and wide leg cream
pants.
Cream and white
resin bangles and
white earrings( circa 1960)
complete the outfit.
If you look carefully
you can see our new
pup Raffy playing in the
shrubbery.
Shoes, the other passion
of mine.
I have had these
little beauties for
many summers
.
I love their colour
and the little metal
touch at the heel.
Sadly, the high wedge
is now only a sometimes
shoe.
Walking any distance
in these not an option.,
pity they always look
so good.

So lovely in the garden, Jill. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday and have a wonderful day, xo.
Thank you Patti , always enjoy joining others for Visible Monday, so good of you to play host.
Bright colour… So beautiful… I am a bit colour-starved today, the grey grim November is making me envious of sunny climates.
Sorry about your grey, grim November. No doubt you have on your jewel colours to add a some bright to the the dull day.
I'm with you on roses and shoes, can't walk past a rose without having a sniff and want to try on every pair of shoes I see! Love that jacket, such a zing of colour and looks great with white and cream.
Me too, I can never walk past a rose without a sniff and as for shoes that goes without saying.Thank you so much for dropping by.
Watermelon over cream looks wonderful! Love all the roses on the background, what a lovely place!
Thank you Olga, so glad you liked the colours. I am a lover of roses in any shape or colour so long as they have a fragrance.
That rosy jacket just knocks my socks off! You, the roses and that coat over pale neutrals are just knockouts! You look beautiful. We share a love of roses. I've given up on them here, but I have a big formal rose bed in my front yard. Couldn't bring them with us, and it made me so sad to leave them. I'll admire them in your yard!Don't you dare get rid of those great shoes! Wear little slippers until you can sneakily put them on and sit down, cross you legs and show those babies off! A puppy! Nothing like a doggie in a rose garden!
I sure would have been so sad to leave the rose garden behind, pity your climate doesn`t allow you to grow them there. I will never give up on great shoes just wear them differently. Great tip about the slippers, must remember that one.The doggie is very much enjoying the garden.

I always felt a girl could ever have too many shoes and roses are always special. I love a white rose, how exciting to find one unexpectedly.
Apparently a woman is either a shoe girl or a handbag girl! I see you go for the shoes! You're wearing such a beautiful colour!
Yes, I guess I am more of a shoe girl but I do love an interesting bag too.Thank you for visiting.
Your roses look so lovely! My grandmother grew the most beautiful roses. I do envy a skilled gardener and miss the fragrance of flowers.Your style is so inviting and feminine! Like you I am a shoe fanatic and I have heel limitations, too. I love your wedges and I'm glad you wore them for us. Enjoy your roses and your shoes ;-)Aliciaspashionista.com
Lovely that you have fond memories of your grandmothers roses, maybe one day when I am a grandmother my roses will evoke the same response. A love of shoes is a common thread for us girls, even if there are some shoes we can only admire. Thank you Alicia for visiting and your kind comments.

What a lovely post! It's amazing that a type of rose can be dated from the 18th century.Jasmine ♥

The watermelon jacket is such a beauty, and so are these shoes – amazing, I'd love to wear them too! Ruffy looks like another rose in your garden, I had to look twice to find him (it could become a game – "Find Ruffy" :)). You look so very elegant, and your roses are gorgeous, you are such a wonderful gardener, Jill! xxxxx
You are so right about the find the Ruffy game, he loves exploring and hiding in the garden. So glad you liked the jacket and shoes, I will definately wear them more often
