By The River

By the river at a local picnic

spot called Corra Lynn on

a clear, cool winter day.

This area is a very popular

swimming hole in the summer.

Today I am wearing

a Marlene Birger top,

(another animal print),

with my wide leg pants

by Nicola Waite.

I am a big fan of all manner

of animal print , for me it

plays the part of a neutral

tone.

I have added my favourite

beads and cream bangles.

My brown velvet hat

is by Crochetta and was

purchased from a local

hat shop in the 80s that

sadly is no more.

The lovely lady owner

passed away a few years ago

and I think of her every time

I wear one of her  hats.

Sadly now in our town the

 small owner operated shops

are disappearing rapidly, to be

replaced by chain stores.

Boots by Aquatalia,so comfy

but suede and fur for dry days only.

GLAMOUR , MY WAY, EVERDAY.

I have a pair of Aquatalia bots – wore them all winter long, they definitely are very comfy! But yours are also quite whimsical. You are very creative in your outfits!

Thank you for your kind comments, Natalia. I hope we will have some more dry weather so I can wear the boots more often, so far winter has been wet.

I feel the same way about animal print. I love everything about it and wish I had it on my shoes. You really have great taste. Classy but not boring.

You know I'm not an animal print fan, but boy-oh-boy do you make it work like a charm. You look fab as usual, and I especially love your boots. Hope winter is treating you well, darling Jill!

Sometimes I feel I like animal print way too much specially in the winter. Raining again so the boots stay in the closet for now.Hope you have a good week, Jan.

You just have the best hats Jill and you wear them so well. That hat from an independent store is very special with its memories of the lovely lady who ran it. Great photo shoot location too

I'm with you! Animal print is a neutral, and you wear it with panache. Every piece which makes up your ensemble is gorgeous. Brava!

Love the fur on the boots and the leopard print. Animal prints feel like neutrals to me, too. I shop at all kinds of different places, but local spots are always special. One of my favorite little shops closed recently. It's hard make a profit when you're paying overhead. I had a thrift store for about a year, and even with owning my own building, by the time I paid for electricity, heat, items to sell, store supplies, etc.it was hard. Retail is a difficult business to be in , it seems no matter where you are. Interesting to hear of your thrift store, sorry you had to close, hope you are happy with your decision and life is moving along. Thank you for visiting and for your kind comments.
